Sweet 16 of 2016

Hello!  Yes, it’s been a very long time!  I didn’t intend to take such a long absence, but it just kind of happened.  2016 was a big year for many reasons.  My family was finally able to put a plan to move into action and we moved back to my home state of Wisconsin.  It happened rather quick, even after trying to make it a reality for years.  No matter how you slice it, moving is always stressful, crazy and difficult!  We are renting an apartment so that we can take our time to find the right house in the right neighborhood.  I’ve lost my dedicated crafting space, which is a big reason you haven’t seen a lot from me.  {Four humans and a big dog in a 2 bedroom apartment can be interesting, to say the least!}  I can’t promise there will be an uptick in posts coming in 2017, but there just might be.  🙂

Before I get on to the Sweet 16, if you are looking for me and I’m not blogging, you are likely to find me more often on Instagram or my Facebook page for PRT.

Anyway, I wanted to end the year with my Sweet 16 for 2016.  Here we go, in chronological order:

JANUARY

fths-136-big-burger

I was thrilled with how this BIG burger turned out!  Coloring can be daunting sometimes!

FEBRUARY

This is counting as one of the sweet 16!  My kiddos have gerbils and these were little cards from the gerbils to their humans.  Unfortunately, we lost Sandy on Halloween.  Smokey is still with us and my daughter now has Dusty — a gerbil who looks almost the same as Sandy.

FTHS139 Hoppy Birthday take 3

My husband’s birthday card and again, I was thrilled with the coloring.

Sophisticated Script Hello

I absolutely adore the Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script alphabet set.  It is a brilliant concept and I used it a lot — I made over 100 name tags for students in the PTA Art Show with this alpha and they turned out really well.  This was such a super CAS & quick card in some of my favorite colors.

MARCH

FTHS Knit Happens

Again, coloring and a Birdbrain.  Love the rich & warm colors.

FTHS142 Keep Calm

This was super fun as well!  Homemade enamel dots!

APRIL

KG April Color Prayers

KG Hello Paris

A pair of watercolor cards for Kennedy Grace Creations.  Love the clean lines of the thoughts and prayers card and love the watercolor background for the Eiffel Tower.

MAY

MFTCC44 Ainsley Hello

This is a card of my daughter’s — she pulled it all together on her own and it’s a great card!

KGC Hydrangea Birthday

Purples are not my favorite, but this came out really spot on!

JUNE

FTHS154 Hot Chick

Flossie the Flamingo {I felt the need to name her!}

FTHS158 Cold One

Love the monochromatic grays!  I finally gave my husband this card in November!

JULY

KGC Coral Rose Love tray up top

This was part of the staging of our house to sell it.  I put this little tray in our bedroom, pulling in the colors of the room.  It was quite love-ly.

SEPTEMBER

These were tags for teacher thank you gifts and I love how they turned out.  They popped a punch and were quick & simple!

am-wedding-side-flat

My niece was married in September and this was my card for the newlyweds.  It was also my entry to the MFT Card Design Superstar contest.

orange-gold-roses

Orange is definitely not a favorite color of mine, but this turned out quite well.  Love the addition of the gold.

So there you have it!  My Sweet 16 of 2016!  I hope 2017 brings you prosperity, health, happiness and lots of crafty time!

2014 Year in Review

Happy New Year’s Eve!  I decided last minute to do a 2014 Year in Review post.  The tale end of 2014 was quite craft heavy for me.  It started in September with cards for consignment.  October was Hope You Can Cling To on SCS.  Additionally, I was teaching a class at my kiddos’ school.  I then went directly into preparations for a holiday fair.  I also met my goal of completing all of the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenges for 2014. WHEW!!

Without further ado, my favorite projects of 2014.  Grab a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of champagne and take a peek at my faves.  I hope you see something to inspire you!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by!  My best wishes for a happy & healthy 2015!!

2013 Year in Review — October through December

Happy New Year’s Eve!  It’s hard to believe 2013 is coming to a close already!  We will be ringing out the old with the 3rd annual Wall Family Dance Party.  With any hope, I will be participating and not sick on the couch as I was the past two years.  (I’m auto posting, so this remains to be seen.)  I have my finally three months of my favorites/year in review.

October
Pretty and Frilly Bra

October kicked off the Hope You Can Cling To (HYCCT) challenges at SCS.  I had participated in a handful in 2012 and being a breast cancer survivor, I wanted to participate in the entire month’s worth of challenges.  Be forewarned — there will be lots of PINK in October & November!
This was one of my favorites from the entire month long challenge.  I know how much I enjoyed shopping for pretty new bras after completely reconstructive surgery earlier this year.  Of course, I went with pinks and black, some pearls, some lace and some really pretty papers.  LOVE it!

This was an inspiration challenge and I was very happy with my result.  Lots of die-cutting for the ruffles in gradient pinks.  LOVE it!

Doing 30+ challenges over the course of a month makes you step out of your comfort zone.  I stepped into a lot of CAS designs over the month and this was one of my absolute FAVES!  This challenge was to combine pink and camouflage, not exactly easy for me.  I sponged the tee with 3 shades of pink to create my own camo.  Love how it turned out and the CAS style!

November

OMG! Did you hear?

I had this Victoria Case for SCACD image all colored and finally put it on a card for the HYCCT challenges.  I love how it matched up with fun conversational cloud paper and the sentiment was created using stamps from a Paper Pretties set.

I’m not sure if I’m a closeted Oakland Raider fan or what, but I LOVE silver and black together.  Nothing says elegance like they do!  Love this a*muse studio chandelier image — it’s loaded up with rhinestones and some pretty double sided ribbon.

This was such a fun card to create — I used my Martha Stewart branch punch and punched out a bunch of sparkle lime green paper.  Very fun!

Sometimes a card just comes together perfectly with minimal ingredients.  This was one of them — a fantastic piece of designer paper, a fab pair of heels and just the perfect touches.

My last HYCCT card and I LOVE the simplicity of it.  I love damask patterns and although yellow definitely isn’t one of my favorite colors, I love the pop of it!  Simple elegance!
December

The simplicity of this card just makes me happy!  I had to make 30 of them so simplicity was a must. Love kraft, white and red together.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

2013 Year in Review — July through September

Hi all!  Continuing with my Year in Review and favorites from 2013.   July was pretty plentiful, but August and September trailed off again.  I couldn’t believe I only had 1 post in September!  I was swamped with birthday party preparations for my daughter’s party and another surgery.

July

I was so happy to take part in the Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July challenges.  I miss my Bugaboo peeps!  The first challenge was an inspiration challenge, which are usually not my forte, and the inspiration Santa was relaxing.  I opted for one of my Tropical Santas from Bugaboo.  I created a nice beach scene using a bunch of die-namics from MFT.  Santa has some cool paper pieced board shorts and hat.  The only thing missing is a nice cool drink!

I really hope this card made the recipient as happy as it makes me when I look at it. This was made for our neighbor who underwent emergency brain surgery and unfortunately missed her husband’s 90th birthday party.   I just adore this duck from Bugaboo and these colors really make me happy.  Plus, I managed to push my pattern threshold and put three different patterns on the same card!

August

My favorite by far in August was a day of stamping with my friend Michele for PTI’s Stamp-a-Faire. We had a great time working on challenges, eating some yummy food and it was topped off with my winning a gift certificate for PTI.

September

So, I completely fell off the face of the blogging earth in September.  This was my sole post in September and it was in the beginning of the month!  This sweet little card was made with the Sweet Stamp Shop Scootin’ By set.  I paper pieced again, but using a stash of vellum I inherited when we were home in Wisconsin over the summer.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

2013 Year in Review — April through June

Hi again!  I’m continuing my Year in Review.  Contrary to January, where I had 13 posts to chose from, things leaned out quite a bit in April, May and June.  In fact, I only had 12 posts over the three months!  I know part of that was due to surgery and recovery.

April

Look Who’s Turning…

This was my Gram’s birthday card.  I absolutely LOVE the Authentique Uncommon papers and they were featured on her card.  What was best was my Gram’s response — she said she liked the card, but would have liked it better had I cut the 8 in half and made it a 3 for 37.  LOL!
May

The Doodle Garden line from MFT is so stinkin’ cute!  Love this sweet image with the super cheery papers from American Crafts.
This card was for There She Goes’ owner Jessica’s birthday blog hop and I love how fun it is.  It was super quick too!  The coordinating dies make this so easy!
June

The Weekly Inkling featured a tutorial for a Bendi style card and I had to try it.  I thought it would be perfect with the Sweet Stamp Shop Cityscape set.  It took a bit of work and quite a bit of fussy cutting, but it turned out quite cute.

June brought the end of the school year for my kiddos.  The MFT ala mode An Apple for Teacher is one of my favorite ala modes.  I paired her up with lots of fun school papers.  LOVE the paper pieced apples!

2013 Year in Review – January through March

Hi all!  I’m sharing my favorites of 2013 with you!  Today I’m starting with January, February and March.  Apparently, I had a whole lot of MOJO in the beginning of 2013.  I had a hard time narrowing my picks down.  Here goes!

January

Cheers!

This was actually my first post of 2013.  I had challenged myself to complete all of the MFT Wednesday Sketch Club challenges for this year.  {I started off on a good note, completing this one on time, but ultimately fell behind in April.  I am slowly improving though — better in 2012 over 2011, better in 2013 over 2012!} If you know me or know my blog, you know I love pink and black together.  This was such a fun card == a very ME card! Well to the color extent, not so much the in a martini glass LOL!

Be My Mac Daddy?

My hubby surprised me with a new computer last Christmas and the Smarty Pants set from There She Goes was the perfect set to use for a thank you card.  I just love that sentiment and the bright yellow.

Sending You Love

Oh, goodness, this was such a fun card!  I was so happy with this sweet Paper Pretties fairy Valentine card!  Absolutely love the papers and traditional Valentine colors.

Another Valentine’s card and how sweet is this?  This is a Paper Makeup Stamps image and it paired really nicely with some heart shaped brads.  Brads are my least favorite embellishments, namely because I tend to forget to use them prior to putting the entire front down, but I really like them on this card.
February

February brought participation in Love Fest over on SCS.  I made up these cute Dream Crews for my kiddos using MFT Hooga Booga.  Click on Dream Crews above to go to the original post for individual pictures.
Again, another Love Fest challenge card.  This has always been a favorite Paper Pretties Sophia image for me and really love the richness of these colors.  Such sophistication for the sweet geisha.
March
This was another Love Fest challenge card and it was a color challenge — something that is definitely a challenge for me.  I was able to make it work with some super fun designer paper, using my MFT hexagon dies and a super fun sentiment from There She Goes.
Another MFTWSC sketch card — I love to paper piece and this was a lot of fun with the balloons and big 8.  If I have an image where I’m not confident of my coloring due to size, I’ll paper piece. This was sweet and cheerful, perfect for an 8th birthday of one of my daughter’s friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be back tomorrow with April, May & June!

My Favorite Things – 2012 Part 2

Happy New Year’s Eve!  Do you have plans to usher out 2012?  We will be hosting the 2nd Annual Wall Family Dance Party.  Last year, the kids had a blast dancing around and being goofy.  I think we played Party Rock Anthem and I’m Sexy and I know It far too many times to count!  LOL!

I’m finishing up my favorites for 2012, starting with July.

July
First, I have the thank you cards and upcycled tin can bouquets.  They were so pretty and so well received.

Next up was Carter’s 5th birthday party invitation.  He had a super hero themed party and it was such a great success and hit among the kids.

Lastly, I have the Passport Stamp Bingo game cards I made for a preschool fundraiser.  This was a crazy amount of coloring, but so cute.

August

I loved the pop of the brilliant blue and red of this card, plus the fun school themed papers.  A sweet back to school card.

September

My favorite in September was my mini-makeover in my craft room.  My fabulous husband made me this fabulous desk.

October

I was so excited to participate in a handful of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over at Splitcoast.  This was one of my favorite cards — the scallop rainbow makes me smile.

I loved the stunning-ness of this black & white card.  It was perfect for an anniversary card.
November

This was another card for the HYCCT challenges.  It called for a chicken image and this French hen image from Bugaboo was perfect.

December

December was a quiet month, but this was by far my favorite.  The snowman candy jars were just adorable and turned out perfectly for teacher gifts.  Definitely a successful Pinterest find!
