Hey all!  Continuing with my favorites of 2010.  Today I have July, August and September.

This card just makes me smile!

Christmas in July — JJ Style
This was so much fun to make and it was featured on Tip Junkie for their Christmas in July post

Mahalo

I really love the pink on this — so pretty.

 August
Make a Splash

This was such a fun sketch and the color combo was totally unexpected — PTI Summer Sunrise and SU Regal Rose.
Prince & Princess Birthday Wishes
These were birthday cards for a set of twins Ainsley is friends with.  It was my first attempt at coloring African-American skin and hair.  I thought they turned out quite cute.

September

You’re #1

Not only my favorite team colors, but such a fun image & layout!

 A Bookworm’s Bookmarks

I made up a pair of bookmarks, inspired by my bookworm bookends my mom made me when I was a kid.  Both bookmarks were promptly snatched up by my daughter, a bookworm herself.

Witch Stitch in Time

I love the totally fall theme of this card and the fabulous JJ image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ll have the final set tomorrow!

Luck for School

My daughter starts Kindergarten two weeks from today. YIKES! Due to her Type 1 diabetes, the start of the school year means more than just making sure she has the right supplies and clothes. As she is dependent on someone to do her pump & testing, we will have an aide. We have to train this person and have yet to find out who that is – it is making me a bit nervous, to say the least.

I made my card with her in mind on her first day, but I might need the luck myself. LOL!

This week’s Wild Flower Patch challenge, which I’m sneaking in under the wire, is for polka dots. I used School Days Ivy and colored her up, using the colors in my dp as a palette. The paper comes from The Paper Studio Serendipity. I paired that up with Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip. Oh, how I love Soft Sky! The layout is this week’s Sketch Saturday sketch. I love using ribbon on the corners and had some really pretty double sided ribbon from Hobby Lobby that fit the color palette perfectly.

Prince & Princess Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday! I’m so happy it is Friday! My daughter is invited to a birthday party tomorrow morning for a set of twins from her class last year. The invitation was a scroll with an invite from the “king & queen” to the prince and princess’ birthday party. So when I made up their cards, I wanted to go with a prince and princess.

Aren’t they cute? I used two images from The Wild Flower PatchPrince Rye and Pretty Princess. This was my first attempt at coloring African-American skin and hair with my Copics. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. Especially for a first attempt.

For my layout, I decided to use the sketch that is up for The Wild Flower Patch challenge this week.

I had to flip the sketch to accommodate my images. You’ll see my current fave punch in there — the cornice Martha Stewart punch. Each card has a Dark Chocolate base. Prince Rye is paired with Not Quite Navy and DCWV At Home paper. The Pretty Princess is paired with Regal Rose and My Minds Eye Quite Contrary paper.

For Prince Rye, I used a picture of Prince Charming for inspiration. I used a gold gel pen to color his epaulets, belt, buttons and cuffs.

Pretty Princess has Diamond Stickles on her gloves and the little layers at the bottom of her dress. I used Petal Pink Liquid Pearls for her necklace and tiara. Unfortunately, it seems I always end up with one little blotch with liquid pearls. Annoying! I still love how she turned out.
