HYCCT1418 Sent with Love

Hi all! If New Jersey is missing from the continental US, it’s because we have floated out to sea with all of this rain.  BLECH!  It’s supposed to be sunny for the next five days, which will be wonderful!

I have another HYCCT card. The challenge for HYCCT1418 is Keep Connected, either connect elements on your card or feature means of communication.

I pulled out an old There She Goes set, which I knew would be perfect with the mailbox.  For colors, I went with Sno Cone and Banana Split from MFT, along with some cheery papers from My Mind’s Eye Sunny.  Bright & cheery!

HYCCT1407 Enjoy Life…

Hi all!  Happy Tuesday!  I’m trying to get going on the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over at Splitcoast.  I’ve finally gotten my first class planned and packed up, so I’m able to move on to the challenges.

I’m starting with today’s challenge — I still need to figure out a few of the first ones.  Today’s challenge is Spoonful of Sugar — use a sugary image on your card.

I knew the perfect set to use for this challenge.  I pulled out the There She Goes Enjoy Life stamps and dies.  Each scoop of ice cream is stamped with the polka dot image in rainbow order.  Each is popped up for lots of dimension.  Quick, clean and simple!  {Now, if I can just stay in that mindset for the other challenges!}

Rainbow Scoops

Happy Saturday! I don’t recall the last time I had so many posts to put up!  This one just positively makes me smile!

I LOVE the simplicity and fun of the There She Goes Enjoy Life set and dies.  I wanted to create something summery and fun.  I was going to do dies, but opted for masking & stamping instead.

My daughter’s love of rainbows has clearly rubbed off on me.  I stamped my ice cream cone, using rainbow colors and only the polka dotted ice cream scoop.  It matched up perfectly with a piece of Doodlebug Take Note paper.  Who isn’t going to smile when they see this?

2013 Year in Review — April through June

Hi again!  I’m continuing my Year in Review.  Contrary to January, where I had 13 posts to chose from, things leaned out quite a bit in April, May and June.  In fact, I only had 12 posts over the three months!  I know part of that was due to surgery and recovery.

Look Who’s Turning…

This was my Gram’s birthday card.  I absolutely LOVE the Authentique Uncommon papers and they were featured on her card.  What was best was my Gram’s response — she said she liked the card, but would have liked it better had I cut the 8 in half and made it a 3 for 37.  LOL!

The Doodle Garden line from MFT is so stinkin’ cute!  Love this sweet image with the super cheery papers from American Crafts.
This card was for There She Goes’ owner Jessica’s birthday blog hop and I love how fun it is.  It was super quick too!  The coordinating dies make this so easy!

The Weekly Inkling featured a tutorial for a Bendi style card and I had to try it.  I thought it would be perfect with the Sweet Stamp Shop Cityscape set.  It took a bit of work and quite a bit of fussy cutting, but it turned out quite cute.

June brought the end of the school year for my kiddos.  The MFT ala mode An Apple for Teacher is one of my favorite ala modes.  I paired her up with lots of fun school papers.  LOVE the paper pieced apples!

2013 Year in Review – January through March

Hi all!  I’m sharing my favorites of 2013 with you!  Today I’m starting with January, February and March.  Apparently, I had a whole lot of MOJO in the beginning of 2013.  I had a hard time narrowing my picks down.  Here goes!

This was actually my first post of 2013.  I had challenged myself to complete all of the MFT Wednesday Sketch Club challenges for this year.  {I started off on a good note, completing this one on time, but ultimately fell behind in April.  I am slowly improving though — better in 2012 over 2011, better in 2013 over 2012!} If you know me or know my blog, you know I love pink and black together.  This was such a fun card == a very ME card! Well to the color extent, not so much the in a martini glass LOL!

Be My Mac Daddy?

My hubby surprised me with a new computer last Christmas and the Smarty Pants set from There She Goes was the perfect set to use for a thank you card.  I just love that sentiment and the bright yellow.

Sending You Love

Oh, goodness, this was such a fun card!  I was so happy with this sweet Paper Pretties fairy Valentine card!  Absolutely love the papers and traditional Valentine colors.

Another Valentine’s card and how sweet is this?  This is a Paper Makeup Stamps image and it paired really nicely with some heart shaped brads.  Brads are my least favorite embellishments, namely because I tend to forget to use them prior to putting the entire front down, but I really like them on this card.

February brought participation in Love Fest over on SCS.  I made up these cute Dream Crews for my kiddos using MFT Hooga Booga.  Click on Dream Crews above to go to the original post for individual pictures.
Again, another Love Fest challenge card.  This has always been a favorite Paper Pretties Sophia image for me and really love the richness of these colors.  Such sophistication for the sweet geisha.
This was another Love Fest challenge card and it was a color challenge — something that is definitely a challenge for me.  I was able to make it work with some super fun designer paper, using my MFT hexagon dies and a super fun sentiment from There She Goes.
Another MFTWSC sketch card — I love to paper piece and this was a lot of fun with the balloons and big 8.  If I have an image where I’m not confident of my coloring due to size, I’ll paper piece. This was sweet and cheerful, perfect for an 8th birthday of one of my daughter’s friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be back tomorrow with April, May & June!

A Trio of HYCCT cards!

Happy Monday all!  Well, I’m down to the last 8 projects for HYCCT!  I want to get these posted, so I’m going to lump a few together.  Oh, and exciting news, I won a $50 gift certificate to Taylored Expressions.  They were one of the many generous sponsors for HYCCT.  I’m very excited about that!

Today I have 3 cards for you.  First up is the Pocketfull of HOPE challenge — to have a pocket on your card.

I had the perfect set for this — MFT Pretty Pocket and coordinating die.  I cut the pocket from Little Boy Blue (Gina K), which is pretty spot on for denim.  Then I stamped the stitching in white on the pocket and made it overflow with stars, hearts and peace signs.  I think this would be great for a tween/teen child.

Next up is the challenge card for the stand tall challenge — to create a tall card.

Since this required 12×12 card stock, which I don’t have a lot of, I didn’t have a lot of wiggle room.  I decided to create this as a piece of art on a wall.  I used MFT Abstract Art and created my “work of art”.  Underneath is a sentiment from MFT Clearly Sentimental about Art.

Finally is a scenic card — the challenge was to create a scene.  There are no better stamps than There She Goes stamps to create scenes.  I pulled out the oft neglected Home Sweet Home and HSH Holiday Additions to create my scene.

I wanted this to look like you were looking into the room, so it is very simple and free of embellishments.  Lots of masking and stamping for this set up.  My mirror does have some Glossy Accents on it, as well as the wine glass.  To make the fire pop a bit, I added Stickles to the flame and as the ash pile underneath the log.  The picture frame is paper pieced with a piece of designer paper.

Happy Birthday, Jessica!

Hi!  Welcome to a very special blog hop for There She Goes’ Jessica,  in honor of her birthday!  Jessica — hope you have a fabulous birthday and enjoy the hop!

For my card, I chose to use Enjoy Life and the coordinating dies.

I wanted to go with a bright and cheerful color palette.  My color choices stemmed from a piece of Doodlebug Fruit Stand paper.  The layout is this week’s TSG sketch challenge.  I popped each scoop and cone up on dimensionals and added a cherry on top.

Inside I stamped the sentiment from the Enjoy Life set and added in yet another triple scoop cone.  The top two scoops were cut out as well and additional cherry was placed.

You’ll find the blog hop order below.  Hope you’ll hop along and make sure to wish Jessica a Happy Birthday!
