Grateful for You

Hi all! When I placed my order with Concord & 9th the other day, I received this sweet Grateful for You stamp with my order.  It makes for more quick and easy cards!

Grateful for You

Isn’t this a sweet floral?  I stamped it in VersaFine Onyx and embossed it with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I then colored the flowers with the latest Color Throwdown combo in mind.  Upon finishing it, I cut it out with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die and added some fun foam for dimension on the back.  I had some really heavy duty navy cardstock from many moons ago in my stash.  There is a faint stripe in the card and it isn’t navy on both sides.   I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch again for this week. I love the simplicity of it.  For the edges, I added little navy pearls — the bottom line went on fine and the top started to come off the adhesive (grr!) or fling all over the place when I tried to use my tweezers (insert eyeroll here!).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

FTHS I’ll Be There For You

Hi all!  I’m back again this week with a card featuring the current sketch challenge at From the Heart Stamps.

FTHS165 There For You

I used the Rainy Day Birdbrains and went with a fun green & blue color combo.  I colored them up with Copics and cut them out with a Stitched Circle STAX die.  I wanted to keep this simple, so I only added Glossy Accents to the rain drops and their eyes.  The paper is from Kaisercraft Chapter One and it is on a base of Smokey Shadow from PTI.  Inside I added a panel of Ocean Tides, also from PTI.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

Sending BIG Hugs

Hi all!  I’m happy to be here with something new to share!  Not only is this the first thing I’ve made this year, but it is also a new image from Faith at From the Heart Stamps.  Faith has been battling cancer since the summer and she was able to get some drawing in recently.  This absolutely adorable sweet bunny is available in the shop as a freebie!  Hopefully, Faith continues to feel well enough to draw more and share her wonderful talent with us all!

{Yes, that is my Christmas tree behind the card.  It’s still up — the advantage of having an artificial tree and since it is white, I’m not rushing to take it down. 🙂 }

Isn’t she just the cutest?  I printed my bunny with one of the four sentiments included in the set.  She’s colored with Copics, keeping it quite subtle to allow for that pop with the heart.  I added some Wink of Stella to the heart to add just a touch of shimmer.  The panel is cut out with Blueprints 13 and it’s added to a Soft Stone card base.  Finally, I added in sequin trios to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Maybe I’ll manage to make it back again in January!

Sweet 16 of 2016

Hello!  Yes, it’s been a very long time!  I didn’t intend to take such a long absence, but it just kind of happened.  2016 was a big year for many reasons.  My family was finally able to put a plan to move into action and we moved back to my home state of Wisconsin.  It happened rather quick, even after trying to make it a reality for years.  No matter how you slice it, moving is always stressful, crazy and difficult!  We are renting an apartment so that we can take our time to find the right house in the right neighborhood.  I’ve lost my dedicated crafting space, which is a big reason you haven’t seen a lot from me.  {Four humans and a big dog in a 2 bedroom apartment can be interesting, to say the least!}  I can’t promise there will be an uptick in posts coming in 2017, but there just might be.  🙂

Before I get on to the Sweet 16, if you are looking for me and I’m not blogging, you are likely to find me more often on Instagram or my Facebook page for PRT.

Anyway, I wanted to end the year with my Sweet 16 for 2016.  Here we go, in chronological order:

I was thrilled with how this BIG burger turned out!  Coloring can be daunting sometimes!

This is counting as one of the sweet 16!  My kiddos have gerbils and these were little cards from the gerbils to their humans.  Unfortunately, we lost Sandy on Halloween.  Smokey is still with us and my daughter now has Dusty — a gerbil who looks almost the same as Sandy.

FTHS139 Hoppy Birthday take 3

My husband’s birthday card and again, I was thrilled with the coloring.

Sophisticated Script Hello

I absolutely adore the Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script alphabet set.  It is a brilliant concept and I used it a lot — I made over 100 name tags for students in the PTA Art Show with this alpha and they turned out really well.  This was such a super CAS & quick card in some of my favorite colors.

FTHS Knit Happens

Again, coloring and a Birdbrain.  Love the rich & warm colors.

FTHS142 Keep Calm

This was super fun as well!  Homemade enamel dots!

KG April Color Prayers

KG Hello Paris

A pair of watercolor cards for Kennedy Grace Creations.  Love the clean lines of the thoughts and prayers card and love the watercolor background for the Eiffel Tower.

MFTCC44 Ainsley Hello

This is a card of my daughter’s — she pulled it all together on her own and it’s a great card!

KGC Hydrangea Birthday

Purples are not my favorite, but this came out really spot on!

FTHS154 Hot Chick

Flossie the Flamingo {I felt the need to name her!}

FTHS158 Cold One

Love the monochromatic grays!  I finally gave my husband this card in November!

KGC Coral Rose Love tray up top

This was part of the staging of our house to sell it.  I put this little tray in our bedroom, pulling in the colors of the room.  It was quite love-ly.

These were tags for teacher thank you gifts and I love how they turned out.  They popped a punch and were quick & simple!

My niece was married in September and this was my card for the newlyweds.  It was also my entry to the MFT Card Design Superstar contest.

Orange is definitely not a favorite color of mine, but this turned out quite well.  Love the addition of the gold.

So there you have it!  My Sweet 16 of 2016!  I hope 2017 brings you prosperity, health, happiness and lots of crafty time!

FTHS – I Believe in You!

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  I’m here today with a fun card featuring one of the new PigWit images from From the Heart Stamps, Harriet PigWit Take Flight.

FTHS155 I Believe in You

Harriet PigWit cracks me up!  I colored her up using Copics and cut her out with a Stitched Circle STAX die.  I paired her up with some sweet designer papers and a layering panel of Harvest Gold (PTI).  The sentiment is from the set.  To finish it off, I added pearls to her necklace and around the edge of the circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

KG – April Color Challenge

Hi all!  Hope you are having a good week!  Kennedy Grace has started up some fun challenges — there’s a great color & inspiration board up currently.  Here’s my take on it:

KG April Color Prayers

I stamped one of the beautiful blooms from Grace’s Happy Heart in Versamark on watercolor paper and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then used Gelatos to color them.  Absolutely LOVE how soft this looks!  To contrast the softness of the bouquet, I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx.  I cut the flowers out with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die.  Before popping this panel up on a Blueprints 13 cut panel of Berry Sorbet, I added a bow of Berry Sorbet satin ribbon.  Finally, I added in sequins from Watermelon Spritzer and Limeaid Ice.

Here’s the inspiration photo.

Hope you get to play along with us!  You have a chance to win a $15 credit to the Kennedy Grace Creations shop! Details are all available on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

KG Creations – Believe

Hi all!  The last day of March!  Can you believe it?  I always say it, but I just can’t believe how fast time flies!  Speaking of believing, this was a fun way to use my Kennedy Grace Creations You Inspire Me set.

KG Believe Rainbow

Included in the set are not just the three beautiful words and all of the tag lines, but also a bunch of little images, perfect for complimenting these sayings.  I used the larger of the two hearts to create a rainbow.  This was completely “freehand” — I don’t have a perfect arch on this, but I did hit all of the colors.  I then cut my cloud and used the smaller heart to stamp between sayings — some of these I masked off words to create a different phrase {for example: reach the stars vs me to reach the stars}.  When I finally filled it in, I popped it up on the panel.  Believe is stamped in VersaFine Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  To finish it off, I added in a sequin for each rainbow color.

Make sure you check out the Kennedy Grace Creations store and pick up your own You Inspire Me and sequin mixes!
