FTHS March Blog Hop

Hi all!  Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop. We have a Spring Theme this month. Our designers are each showing a project created with this theme.

If you have arrived from Calypso, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project, using Apple Blossom Birds.

I love these sweet little birds.  I used my Zig Clear Color Markers to color them — this was the first time I used them on regular cardstock.  I’d rather stick with watercolor!  Anyway, I colored up the Apple Blossom Birds and cut them out with a Stitched Rectangle Frame die.  I cut another Stitched Rectangle Frame from Calypso Coral.  Finally, I added in some sequins and Wink of Stella on the birds and flowers.  The sentiment is from MFT’s Adorable Elephants.

Now head over to Doni and see what she has created. As you hop along, leave a comment on each blog. We will select a random winner from the comments on each blog and on the FTHS blog to win one image of your choice.

Our hop will end on Sunday March 12th 2017 at 6 am, and the winners will be posted on Wednesday March 15th.

Thanks for hopping with us today.

Cammy <—-you are here

On to the eye candy!  First up, I have a card featuring Paris in Spring and Grace’s Little Notes.  Oh, how I love these!

KG Hello Paris

I cut a piece of watercolor paper with Blueprints 13 and stamped one of the floral images from Grace’s Little Notes in VersaMark repeatedly around the edge.  I then embossed it with white embossing powder.  Using a combination of SAI Watercolor Markers and Gelatos, I colored in my flowers, hoping for a cherry blossom effect.  I added in some blue as a background color and tried to not be so “rigid” in how I colored it.  Then I cut a piece of white cardstock with a Pierced Rectangle STAX.  I watercolored an additional piece of watercolor paper and cut out an Eiffel Tower {Cottage Cutz}.  After gluing down my monument, I stamped the hello from Grace’s Little Notes in VersaFine Onyx and embossed that in clear.  Finally, I added in some sequins from the Paris in Spring sequin mix {j’aime Paris!}.

Next up, I have a card featuring the Honey Bee sequin mix.

KG Hello Sunshine Honey Bee

A few weeks ago, on a trip to Michaels, I picked up the Recollections 6×6 Color Splash resist paper pad.  This card features half of a page, watercolored with SAI watercolor markers.  I kept this very simple — coloring up the pre-printed/stamped images and then adding a small strip of black for contrast before putting this on a Lemon Drop card base (Gina K).  I added in two trios of sequins from the Honey Bee mix.  A very quick card that totally makes you think otherwise!

Now, I’m the last stop on the hop!  We hope you all enjoyed the hop, picked up a ton of inspiration along the way and need to place your orders pronto!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

FTHS144 – Easter Greetings

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  I’m back with another I {heart} Sketches card this week.  It’s hard to believe next week is Easter already!  My first From the Heart Stamps purchase was the Spring Baskets trio and I love the Easter themed basket.

FTHS144 Easter Greetings

As you can see from the sketch below, I flipped it on its head and went in the opposite direction of the tWist!  LOL!  I colored up my Easter basket with Copics, randomly choosing some nice spring colors.  I cut it out using a Stitched Arch STAX die and added it to a piece of Doodlebug patterned paper {cut, of course, with Blueprints 13}.  I’m trying to pull embellishments and papers from this massive stash I’ve accumulated over the years and grabbed some pretty satin double-sided ribbon.  {Of course, after putting the card together, I had a thought that I should have done a pink ribbon like that on the basket, but I like the blue and green.}  The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti Carton Cuties.  Some tiny stashed rhinestones finished it off.

Hope you’ll get the chance to play along with us this week.  Remember, just for entering, you receive a $1.00 credit to the FTHS store.

Mother’s Day Basket

Hi all!  Happy Saturday!  Just a quick post — I’m knee deep in preparations for this Mother’s Day Mall/Craft Fair.  This is a lot of work!

As I’ve been making Mother’s Day cards, I pulled out a bunch of printed digis.  I had this adorable Spring Basket image from From the Heart ready to go.  I used the current i {heart} card sketches layout and it worked out really well.   For their “twist” on the challenge – a photo inspiration – I pulled some of the colors from the photos.

FTHSketch #8 Basket ‘o Shamrocks

Happy Saturday all!  A quick post today!  We have a busy weekend with birthday parties and parades. The weather should cooperate — it snowed yesterday a very pretty, but very wet and heavy snow that I had to shovel 3 times.  Today it is supposed to be in the 50s.  Crazy, I tell you!

Today I have a card for the current From the Heart Sketch.  I picked up a trio of basket digis from their store — did you know you get a $1 credit for the store each time you participate in their sketch challenge?  I’m a sucker for shamrocks and absolutely adore the basket full of them in this trio.

My heritage is German on my mom’s side and likely lots of British on my dad’s.  I haven’t been able to research it thoroughly yet, but I do know based on our family names we have lots of Scottish and English.  I’m hoping for a tiny bit of Irish as well, as St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite days and Ireland is tops on our list to travel to.

When I colored up the basket, I decided to go with colors represented in the Irish flag.  I knew I had this big, beautiful, orange ribbon, which worked perfectly with this sketch.  I added a bit of Smooch Green Apple for added sparkle to each shamrock and some Smooch Illuminate to the bow.   On two of the three small squares, I added in a shamrock made from a small heart punch.

The last thing I added was a sweet little crocheted butterfly.  I picked up a handful of these on a trip to NYC the other year and forgot all about them.

I’m also entering this into the From the Heart February Free Stamp of the Month Challenge.

Flower Pot Peeker

Happy Thursday!  I’m enjoying the freeing up in my schedule I’ve had since finishing radiation.  I have lots of things to fill that time and I’m hoping to make a lot of it crafty time.

I have an OBG for Catch the Bug today.  This sweet Summertime Peeker image is one of my favorites.

I made up a very quick 4.25″ square card.  The designer papers are from a little pack of paper I bought a number of years ago in Rhode Island.  The papers are 4×4 and are perfect for these little cards.

Simple Flowers

Happy Friday all!  I’m 7 rounds in to radiation — 26 more to go.  The biggest pain is the back and forth and extra running.  As I said to the therapists yesterday, if I could only lose weight while driving.  LOL!

Today is a new freebie over at Bugaboo.  Jodie has a very sweet & simple flower pot — perfect for spring birthdays and Mother’s Day.

I colored these flowers up simply, going for a rosy pink pallet.  The papers are from My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky, which paired very nicely with Autumn Rose (PTI) and Bubblegum Pink (Gina K).  A few rhinestones and a double bow finished it off.  The sketch is an old Taylored Expressions sketch.
