FTHS141 Shake Your Flakes

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  We had beautiful weather yesterday that left the kiddos really itching for spring.  They had a quick scooter ride to the playground and back — with me trying to keep up behind them! LOL!

Today I have a card for the new I {heart} Sketches sketch.

FTHS141 Shake Your Flakes

I used another of the adorable snowmen from the Dancing Snowman set.  {This is a great value — there are 3 snowmen and four sentiments in this set.  All for $1.75!} I love the retro boom box!  It was a simple coloring — I colored up that scarf in green and then pulled out some fun green patterned papers to create a monochromatic card.

Hope you are able to play along with us this week!  Remember, you receive a $1.00 credit to the From the Heart Stamps store just for playing along.

FTHS Blog Hop – A Friendly Little Hello

FtHS-blog-hop-feb

Happy Friday all!  Welcome to the February Blog Hop for From the Heart Stamps!  This month we are featuring the über-adorable snowmen/women/girls/boys/teens that Faith has been drawing.  You’ll see lots of gorgeous snowy projects along the way!

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog.  One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.

If you have arrived from Brenda, you are in the right place.  If not, why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog so you don’t miss anything.

For my card today, I used the sweet Hello Snowman.

Isn’t she cute?  I merged this with some fun Doodlebug Valentine paper, which I thought complimented her hat well.  I kept it all in the pink family!  That sweet sentiment is included in the set, along with some great knitted hearts.  To finish it off, I added in some sequins and some Stickles on her hat.  My Stickles came out a bit more than I liked, but it worked out because those little pom-poms are almost 3D!

Now you should head over to Doni and see what she’s created.

Thanks for hopping along with us today.  The hop will end on Monday, February 8th at 6 AM.  Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday, February 10.

FTHS Midweek DT Inspiration — In Your Arms….

Hi all!  It’s Wednesday, which means Midweek Design Team Inspiration at From the Heart Stamps.  Now, I promise you that I have non-snowmen projects to share with you, just not quite yet.  🙂

I just love this sweet Snowman Hugs couple!  I colored them up the other day {amazingly, I picked out my patterned paper FIRST!} and turned them into a card on World Card Making Day.  The layout is the current sketch along with the twist.  The twist this week is to keep it flat or mail friendly.  To add some extra texture, I cut all three panels using Pierced Rectangle STAX from MFT.  I added in some Stickle snow {using all of these snowmen is helping me use up my Stickles stash as well} and some sequin “snowflakes”.  Inside I added a sentiment — the “In your arms is my favorite place to be.”– on a mat of Limelight card stock, mimicking the front.  Sweet and definitely mailable!

I {Heart} Sketches #120 — Swinging By

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  Although my first official day on the design team for From the Heart Stamps is Friday,  I’m popping in a few days early with the new sketch from I {heart} Sketches.

As I mentioned, I just adore the snowmen Faith has been drawing.  They are so sweet!  And, they are an incredible value — while Faith is working on her goal of 100 snowmen, these are $1.00 in the store!  It isn’t just the image — it’s a full digi set with sentiments! Even at full price, they are a bargain!

Really, how could you resist these little guys?  This is the Swinging Snowman — he comes with three sentiments.  I printed two of the sentiments, using one for inside as well {the wishing you…. sentiment}.  Both panels are cut with Blueprints 13.  My snowman is printed on Stampers Select card stock from PTI and colored with Copics.  I went with a different combo of turquoise/aqua with a deep magenta.  {I did my usual, where I color the image prior to selecting any papers and then spend a ton of time trying to find papers to go with the image!  I never learn!}  My card base is Rich Razzleberry and I finally found some designer paper to go with this from My Mind’s Eye.  My snowman is cut out with a Zig Zag Square die and popped up on dimensionals.  I wanted there to be a lot of sparkle, so I added Stickles to his hat and boot cuffs, as well as the sole of the boot.  To complete it, I added a trio of sequins.    Hope you’ll consider playing along with us this week!

Before I go, join us on Friday for the Meet the Design Team blog hop!
