Christmas Cheer & Happy New Year

Hi all!  I’m here with a über-CAS Christmas card.  I ordered from Concord & 9th and just adored the new Christmas sets.  I hadn’t tried coloring on kraft cardstock, so I decided to give that a try.

CAS Penciled Lights

I stamped the Christmas light wreath in Sweet Tooth ink from MFT.  I then embossed over it with white embossing powder.   I picked traditional Christmas colors and quickly colored in the lights.  After coloring, I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx and embossed it with clear.  I found white wasn’t crisp enough for the small sentiment.  To top it off, I added some Wink of Stella to each light.  Since I’m considering this an option for mass production, I didn’t add any further embellishments. {Plus, I think I need to expand my selection of Nuvo colors — it currently consists of two.}

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

Digi Relay Day 3 – Toby Cub

I was bummed to read this morning that The Greeting Farm digi relay was ending early. It was such a big draw that the servers kept crashing on their site and getting the digis out to everyone was difficult. It was fun while it lasted and I’m glad to have a few more TGF stamps in my collection.

For my Toby Cub card, I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch from yesterday. Of course, I ended up changing it up a bit. Here’s the sketch and my card:

I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS to color Toby. I tried using Copics, but I didn’t have a color combo that I liked. It is always good to pull out something you haven’t used in a long time. I also pulled out some random patterned paper — I believe this was from a scrapping kit from SU. I was happy to finally use a little bit of it. The sentiment is from PTI’s Bitty Baby Blessings set. After putting everything together, I realized there wasn’t an embellishment on this card — no ribbon, Dew Drops, Stickles, etc. I had to add something — so I added just a touch of Platinum Stickles to his cheeks. Perfect – now I just need someone to have a baby boy!
