Today is the blog hop for the February release and all of the new, gorgeous sequin mixes are available for purchase in the Kennedy Grace Creations store.

If you came here from the Kennedy Grace blog, you are on the right path.  If not, why not start there so you don’t miss anything!

KG Watermelon Love

For my card, I went clean and simple.  The new Watermelon Spritzer mix is just gorgeous — it’s a beautiful mix of watermelon sequins, two sizes of translucent/clear sequins and clear and gold round beads.  I used only the sequins on my card, as well as a few smaller sequins from Tinkerbelle’s Sparkle.  Now the watermelon sequins match perfectly with Berry Sorbet card stock from PTI.  For my card, I used a Berry Sorbet base and added a black panel with a Mega Mehndi Medallion (PTI) stamped & embossed with white embossing powder.  To that, I added a stack of love — I cut the MFT love die five times from Berry Sorbet and stacked them up.  I love to add dimension in that way.  Of course, then I added in my sequins to finish it off.   Love that pop of the sequins off the black card stock.

There is a prize giveaway, in honor of the blog hop & release.  Make sure you comment on each blog to increase your chances to win.  The winner will be announced on Monday on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog.

Your next stop on the blog hop is the talented Jessica — make sure you hop over there to see her gorgeous project.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

MIM #209 Planted…

Hi all!  Happy Sunday!  I have a rare PTI card to share with you and a first for participating in their Make It Monday challenges.  I’m trying to make up a bunch of teacher appreciation cards to sell and of course, I’m behind on things.  I thought this week’s challenge was quite cute and it worked well with some of their recently released teacher themed products.

So the challenge this week was to use white on white die cuts with a pop of color.  The Seeds of Knowledge set they released had some sweet sentiments and images, although not my typical style.  The watering can worked well with this technique.

I cut my watering can out three times and one water flourish.  I stamped the can only once in MFT Banana Split and the water in Blu Raspberry.  I glued two of the cans down to a piece of Neenah Solar White cut with Blueprints 13.  I then stamped a sentiment from the Teacher’s Apple set, highlighting teacher in Blu Raspberry.  I then popped up my watering can on dimensional and put it in the middle.  This makes for a really pretty CAS card!

2014 Year in Review

Happy New Year’s Eve!  I decided last minute to do a 2014 Year in Review post.  The tale end of 2014 was quite craft heavy for me.  It started in September with cards for consignment.  October was Hope You Can Cling To on SCS.  Additionally, I was teaching a class at my kiddos’ school.  I then went directly into preparations for a holiday fair.  I also met my goal of completing all of the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenges for 2014. WHEW!!

Without further ado, my favorite projects of 2014.  Grab a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of champagne and take a peek at my faves.  I hope you see something to inspire you!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by!  My best wishes for a happy & healthy 2015!!

HYCCT1416 HOPE

Hi all!  It’s been a cold & rainy day here in NJ.  We are supposed to get more rain yet tonight and tomorrow.  It’s a good reason to stay in my craft room!
I have another HYCCT card today — a challenge to make a card, using no stamps.

For my card, I opted to use my Peek-a-Boo Alphabet Uppercase dies from MFT to spell out HOPE.  I then used my PaperTrey Ink Faith & Hope die to cut out a number of ribbons in various shades of pink, which were glued together and popped up on dimensional.  I then added in a ribbon of rhinestones on top.  Quick & simple!

PTI SAF 2014 – Time After Time

The last challenge of the day was to pull a card we had made and redo it.  After flipping through my blog, I saw many I could have redone, but opted to redo my husband’s Valentine’s card from 2009.  I had only started blogging that year and was quite green yet in my techniques.  Below is the original card.  I opted to make it ultra CAS — I used a white card base and rounded the corners, which is very trendy right now.  My hearts are punched with the PTI punches that coordinates with Heart Prints.  The hearts are Gelato hearts on watercolor paper.   I stamped a sentiment from the set, added a few rhinestones and a bow.

PTI SAF 2014 – Challenge #14 Passing Notes

For the final decade challenge, we were to create a note, like those we passed in class back in the ’80s.  I know I did and knew how to fold them, but I was so tired by this point!  I created one of the paper footballs using a piece of Doodlebug designer papers — it fits so well with the 80s.  I just attached it to a little glassine envelope that is lined like notebook paper.  Inside the envelope I included a little tag using the Tag Sale #14 die.

PTI SAF 2014 — Challenge #13 Retro Rainbows

The 80s were definitely my decade!  I opted to make another 3×4 with the cute sunglass image included in the SAF set.  I stamped it multiple times, using Hero Arts neon inks.  I added in some of the tiny & cute sentiments.
