2013 Year in Review – January through March

Hi all!  I’m sharing my favorites of 2013 with you!  Today I’m starting with January, February and March.  Apparently, I had a whole lot of MOJO in the beginning of 2013.  I had a hard time narrowing my picks down.  Here goes!

January

Cheers!

This was actually my first post of 2013.  I had challenged myself to complete all of the MFT Wednesday Sketch Club challenges for this year.  {I started off on a good note, completing this one on time, but ultimately fell behind in April.  I am slowly improving though — better in 2012 over 2011, better in 2013 over 2012!} If you know me or know my blog, you know I love pink and black together.  This was such a fun card == a very ME card! Well to the color extent, not so much the in a martini glass LOL!

Be My Mac Daddy?

My hubby surprised me with a new computer last Christmas and the Smarty Pants set from There She Goes was the perfect set to use for a thank you card.  I just love that sentiment and the bright yellow.

Sending You Love

Oh, goodness, this was such a fun card!  I was so happy with this sweet Paper Pretties fairy Valentine card!  Absolutely love the papers and traditional Valentine colors.

Another Valentine’s card and how sweet is this?  This is a Paper Makeup Stamps image and it paired really nicely with some heart shaped brads.  Brads are my least favorite embellishments, namely because I tend to forget to use them prior to putting the entire front down, but I really like them on this card.
February

February brought participation in Love Fest over on SCS.  I made up these cute Dream Crews for my kiddos using MFT Hooga Booga.  Click on Dream Crews above to go to the original post for individual pictures.
Again, another Love Fest challenge card.  This has always been a favorite Paper Pretties Sophia image for me and really love the richness of these colors.  Such sophistication for the sweet geisha.
March
This was another Love Fest challenge card and it was a color challenge — something that is definitely a challenge for me.  I was able to make it work with some super fun designer paper, using my MFT hexagon dies and a super fun sentiment from There She Goes.
Another MFTWSC sketch card — I love to paper piece and this was a lot of fun with the balloons and big 8.  If I have an image where I’m not confident of my coloring due to size, I’ll paper piece. This was sweet and cheerful, perfect for an 8th birthday of one of my daughter’s friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be back tomorrow with April, May & June!

Blowing Kisses

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  It has been a very cold week here in NJ.  Not nearly as cold as WI and other parts of the country, but cold enough!  I’m just excited that I was successful in adding my watermark onto my photos with Photoshop!  Photoshop is new to me and let’s just say my learning curve is quite big!

I’ve had this adorable Paper Makeup Stamps Isabella image for quite some time and finally colored her up.  Isn’t she sweet?  I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for the week and fun papers from MME Love Me.  A trio of heart brads for her to blow and Stickles on her wings finished it off.  It’s a rather clean & simple layout for me. LOL!

A Little Faith

Good Morning! Hope you all had a nice weekend. Today starts a new Kaboodle Doodles challenge. Before I get to the challenge, I have to tell you the KD blog has had a bit of a makeover by our own Chris. Make sure you check out all of the wonderfully whimsical flowers & butterflies!

Our challenge this week is sponsored by Craftbrulee and a $10 gift certificate for the store is up for grabs. We received some gorgeous lace & flowers to use on our projects this week and you’ll definitely want to check out the store for the lovely products they carry. The challenge is to use 2 solid papers, 2 patterned papers with lace and/or flowers embellishments. When I first read this challenge, it made me nervous. After thinking about it for a bit, I decided to go with a simple card, using a sentiment as the focal point.

In order to get all of the challenge elements in, I decided to pull out my Making Memories Sabrina paper and went with a black and a pink polka dotted paper. Matching these up with Pretty in Pink and Basic Black was perfect with the lovely pink edged lace from Craftbrulee. I chose a digi sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps, which I think works perfectly. I really love how this turned out.
