You Nailed It!

Good Morning! Happy Monday! I’m looking forward to a fresh week to start tackling my next big thing. There will be more news on this on Friday.

I have a card I did for my husband. Although there are a few elements of our basement that need to be completed yet, we’ve spent some great time down there already. The kids love their new play area and I love the new couch — I’ve enjoyed a few naps on it already. 🙂

I finally picked up the Our Craft Lounge Nailed It set at Archivers in July. I knew it would be perfect for all of the honey-do projects my husband completes. The card is very simple — a 4.25 square card of Real Red and Basic Grey. The Basic Grey is embossed with the Houndstooth Cuttlebug folder. I added in some screw brads from Gina K that I’ve had for ages. I’m giving this to him with a copy of Die Hard.

Jolly Blinged Ornaments

The first major snow of 2009 turned out to be only moderately major for us. We had about 6 inches, but I know other parts of New Jersey had over 20, which I think is just insane — even being from Wisconsin. The kids went out this morning and made snow angels, ate the snow and threw the snow. They looked so stinkin’ cute in all of their padding. Little stay-puff marshmallow people!

Oh, and see that adorable little button on the right side? My “I’ve Been Good…REALLY!” card was picked in the Top 3 of the DCRU challenge. I’m so excited about that! Totally made my day!

Last week I needed — strike that — volunteered — to do a card for the teachers in my daughter’s class. Another mom & I organized a money collection for gift cards, for which I made gift card holders and I’ll show you those tomorrow. For the card, I decided to go clean & simple and very, very quick.

Using the adorable Our Craft Lounge Jolly Ornaments set, I stamped the same ornament 3 times. Twice in Pure Poppy and once in Green Galore. Even though I was going CAS, it still deserved some bling, so I filled in the dots on the ornaments with rhinestones. I stamped the sentiment in Pure Poppy as well and added a nice Pure Poppy grosgrain bow. CAS is definitely the way to go when you are short on time!
