Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  I hope 2016 is a very Sweet ’16 for all of you!  I’m getting some crafting time in my room with my daughter today and am playing with some new goodies from MFT.  I have been trying to have a bit more willpower in buying new supplies, but did make a purchase on the last MFT 25% off sale.  I picked up some discontinued inks and some card stock, as well as the Paris and New York Skyline Border dies.  I’ve had them on my wish list since they came out and I’m so happy to have them in my hands!

During the winter months, I can see parts of the NYC skyline {a bit obstructed, mind you} from our house.  The sunrises over the city are frequently quite stunning and that was my inspiration for this card.  I started with a panel of Neenah Solar White cut with Blueprints 13, of course.  I then blended inks from Amuse {Blush, Berry, Bellini and Sky} and Mama Elephant Orangeade.  After letting that dry a bit, I stamped Happy New Year from Jaded Blossom  Happy New Year in Versafine Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I added in my skyline, which was cut from Black Licorice card stock.  To complete the front, I added in some small star rhinestones for a bit of twinkle.  Inside is another panel of Solar White cut with Blueprints 13 and I stamped an additional sentiment from the same Jaded Blossom set.

New Year’s Shoes

Good Morning!  I wish all who celebrate the merriest of Christmases!  Has your house been obliterated with wrapped paper, bows and packaging?  I have every hope, as this is auto-posted, to still be in bed at 7 AM.  This may not happen — having a 5 & 3 year old lends for lots of excitement.  Last year, our little early riser, Carter, got up, went downstairs and started rearranging presents (he likes nice clean, straight lines) and peeking into a few.  I don’t know what he’ll do this year, but since he is typically in our bed by the time he gets up, I’ll know he got up!
Anyway, today starts another Catch the Bug challenge. We challenge you to a New Year or Celebration card, using ribbon, twine or trim in your embellishments.
Jodie has many of her fabulous characters in their fanciest attire that would be perfect for the new year or a celebration, but I went with one of her newer lines, the high heels.  You need a killer pair of shoes to party, right?!  (You’d definitely have dead feet after wearing these LOL!)  Anyway, I colored them in a sassy red with shiny black ribbons. (Made shiny with Glossy Accents.) The sketch is from MOJO Monday.
A close up of those killer shoes!
You have a chance to win up to 7 free digis from Bugaboo Stamps if you play along — top prize requires the use of a Bugaboo image on your project.  Plus, this week we are sponsored by Digis with Attitude and they have generously offered up a $10 CAD gift certificate to their online store.
