Kaboodle Doodles #72 — Food & Drink

**If you are looking for my Bugaboo Stamps ABaC, please scroll down.**
Hi again!  Time for another Kaboodle Doodles challenge.  This week we are sponsored by Meljen’s Designs and 4 images are up from grabs.  Our theme is food and/or drinks.

I used the super cute Birthday Cake Mouse and went with a very simple pink & black color combo.   There was about a 10 minute window for me to make this card, so I kept things very simple — my image was already precolored and I used some Making Memories Sabrina paper and ribbon.  Very quick, very simple, very cute!

Chili Chihuahua

Good Morning! Last week my mom asked me to make a birthday card for her mother-in-law. She has a chihuahua and loves the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, so my mom asked for a card with a chihuahua. I had to go searching for an image and came up with the fabulous Chili Chihuahua image from Meljen’s Designs.

Isn’t that just a super fun image? I colored him up with Copics, going with colors found in the even funner My Minds Eye papers. I love the diagonal and vertical stripes. Anyway, I kept the layout very simple, allowing for lots of fun color to pop through and the image to take center stage. After cutting it out with nesties, I added lots of little rhinestones to his hat. A pretty bow of pink stitched green ribbon finishes it off nicely.

Mr. Giraffe

Good Morning! It is time for another Kaboodle Doodles challenge. This week we have a color challenge for you, inspired by a beautiful floral picture taken by our own Chris. Our challenge is sponsored by Meljen’s Designs, which are sold exclusively at Whimsy Stamps. There are some fantastic designs in her collection.

First up, here is our photo inspiration and color pallet.

Second, is my card using this adorable giraffe image.

I have to admit that I struggled with this color combo. I kept getting results I wasn’t satisfied with and then I tried this little cutie. I was finally happy with the coloring and then paired it up with Pure Poppy and Lavender Lace — definitely a new combo for me. The layout is very simple — the Lavender Lace is embossed with Polka Dots and a knotted piece of Pure Poppy grosgrain pops off the purple. My daughter asked why he was wearing a tie and I told her it was because he worked at the zoo. She loved that answer!
