My Favorite Things – 2012 Part 2

Happy New Year’s Eve!  Do you have plans to usher out 2012?  We will be hosting the 2nd Annual Wall Family Dance Party.  Last year, the kids had a blast dancing around and being goofy.  I think we played Party Rock Anthem and I’m Sexy and I know It far too many times to count!  LOL!

I’m finishing up my favorites for 2012, starting with July.

July
First, I have the thank you cards and upcycled tin can bouquets.  They were so pretty and so well received.

Next up was Carter’s 5th birthday party invitation.  He had a super hero themed party and it was such a great success and hit among the kids.

Lastly, I have the Passport Stamp Bingo game cards I made for a preschool fundraiser.  This was a crazy amount of coloring, but so cute.

August

I loved the pop of the brilliant blue and red of this card, plus the fun school themed papers.  A sweet back to school card.

September

My favorite in September was my mini-makeover in my craft room.  My fabulous husband made me this fabulous desk.

October

I was so excited to participate in a handful of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over at Splitcoast.  This was one of my favorite cards — the scallop rainbow makes me smile.

I loved the stunning-ness of this black & white card.  It was perfect for an anniversary card.
November

This was another card for the HYCCT challenges.  It called for a chicken image and this French hen image from Bugaboo was perfect.

December

December was a quiet month, but this was by far my favorite.  The snowman candy jars were just adorable and turned out perfectly for teacher gifts.  Definitely a successful Pinterest find!

My Favorite Things – 2012 Part 1

Good Morning! As we approach the New Year, I decided to pull up my favorites for 2012.  I must admit, my pickings weren’t as plentiful as I had in the past, but I think I still managed to find a few cute things.  🙂  Today I have January through June.

January
This was for the Bugaboo Stamps birthday celebration and it is one of my favorite Bugaboo images.  It is just perfect for kid birthday cards.
February
Not only do I love how this card turned out, but it had so much meaning behind it.  I had my bilateral mastectomy in February and found out later that month that the cancer was gone.  Definitely a HUGE happening in 2012 for me!

March
This was my first project following my surgery.  It was so great to be back in my room and crafting.  I also love all of the pinks and dots.  Plus, who doesn’t love Stella?

April
I have two for April — I just couldn’t pick.

First is this adorable card using a By Lori Designs image.  I just really love the colors in this card and the sweet image.

Second, is this great pencil vase I made for my daughter’s teacher.  This was an upcycled tin can with pencils glued around it.  It was such a great way to give her a gift of flowers.

May
Again, I have two.

First, was the card I made for my radiation crew.  I finished radiation in May, which was the end of my cancer treatments — active treatments, not the surgery road.  This was a sentiment from Create with TLC, which was just perfect for them.

Second was a trio of cards for the There She Goes Mother of All Blog Hops.  I really love the Blessings set, especially the sentiments.
June

Hands down, my favorite from June was my invitation for my 40th birthday party.  It was also one of the big events in 2012 for me.  We had a fabulous party with lots of sweets.  It was such a great day!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be back tomorrow with the second half of the year!

Super Hero Invite

Hi all!  Before I get a week long set of posts for the Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July festivities, I wanted to sneak in my son’s birthday invitation.  He turns 5 on the 25th and usually we are in Wisconsin for his birthday.  This year we decided to give him a party with his school friends.  He settled on a generic superhero theme.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do for an invitation and I LOVE the way these came out!  I used the AKV superhero and he’s flying over a lovely metropolis cut out with the MFT Skyline Border die-namic.  The skyline is cut out of DCWV Glitter Mat Stack, which was easier than cardstock for getting the window holes punched out.  After gluing it down, I added “lights” with a yellow marker.  SUPER cute!  The party should be lots of fun!
