FTHS153 – World’s Best

Hi all!  Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are well!  We are busy in our house with many different projects, so I’m going to keep this short.

Today starts a new sketch challenge at From the Heart Stamps.  Here’s my take on the sketch:

FTHS153 World's Best

Have you caught the freebies Faith has had in the shop on Fridays?  This was the freebie two weeks ago and it’s a great set!  I printed the coffee cup from World’s Best Coffee and cut it out with a Stitched Circle STAX die.  I then pulled some designer paper from Bazzill Lucy’s Crab Shack.  I liked the plaid since it worked well with my colors and the flip side was a list of beaches.  I thought that would work well with the world’s best monicker.  My card base is Kraft and I added in a piece of Soft Suede (SU), which I thought added in a nice masculine richness.  My circle panel is popped up on some fun foam and then I added in sequins from a newly released Kennedy Grace Creations mix, Mocha Vanilla Latte.

Hope you’ll play along with us this week!  Don’t forget, each person who participates will receive a $1.00 credit to the From the Heart Stamps store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

FTHS#152 Hamlet Golfer

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  I’m here today with a great new sketch for I {heart} sketches and featuring one of the new Hamlet PigWits.

FTHS152 Hamlet Golfer

Hamlet PigWit in the Rough is a hilarious image and sentiment set.  Personally, I don’t golf {I’ve gone once and my divots went further than the ball!} and my husband has only gone once a year, but I find this set so hilarious.  I colored Hamlet with Copics —  I actually found my designer paper first, opting for some patterns likely to be found on golf shorts.   He’s cut out with a Zig Zag Square STAX die.  My plaid paper is cut out with Blueprints 13 and I cut three small flags in complimentary card stock colors.  I did pop Hamlet up on fun foam to give him some nice dimension.  For the golf ball, I added in a white Candy Dot.  Inside, I added an additional panel with the “Swing. Swear. Look for Ball. (Repeat)” — it really made me giggle when I read that!

Make sure you stop by the From the Heart Stamps blog to see what other inspiring works my teammates have made this week. Don’t forget, you receive a $1.00 credit to the From the Heart Stamps store just for participating {just remember, you must use a FTHS image and use either the sketch and/or the twist!}

FTHS150 & May Blog Hop

Hi all!  Sorry for the absence — I’ve had a busy week painting rooms in our house, including my pink room {it’s still pink}, but I’m still trying to put it back together.

Today is our May blog hop for From the Heart Stamps and our theme is Pigging Out, featuring the PigWits!

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.

We are having a little twist this month! Some of our designers are adding ribbon to their projects. As you move through the hop, count up how many of the designers chose to use ribbon on their project. Email your answer to Faith: (faith@fromtheheartstamps.com) for a chance to win a $15 voucher to the FTHS store!

If you have arrived from Brenda, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project, using Hamlet PigWit Being Shy.

FTHS150 PigWit Swine

I colored up Hamlet using Copics and cut him out using the largest Stitched Circle Frame die.  My layout is this week’s sketch, just on a square card vs rectangular.  I opted for a Grout Gray base so I cut an additional frame in Grout Gray.  The polka dotted papers are from American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm.  I then added in some sequins.

Now head over to Doni and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Sunday May 8th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday May 11th.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you again soon!

The Pencil Case — Red & Pink

FTHS#145 Birdday

Hi all! Happy Monday!  Hope you had a lovely Easter holiday and weekend! I’m back today with the newest sketch for I {heart} Sketches.  It’s a super CAS sketch and I kept it just that way.

FTHS145 Birdday

I wasn’t kidding with the CAS!  I colored up the Birthday Candle Birdbrain.  I’m in a groove for coloring him with warm grey Copics.    He’s cut out with a Zig Zag STAX die.  The patterned paper is from Kaisercraft.  I popped up the birdbrain on dimensionals and then added some Stickles to the wick and Glossy Accents to his eyes.  Finally, I added in a trio of enamel dots.

FTHS144 – Easter Greetings

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  I’m back with another I {heart} Sketches card this week.  It’s hard to believe next week is Easter already!  My first From the Heart Stamps purchase was the Spring Baskets trio and I love the Easter themed basket.

FTHS144 Easter Greetings

As you can see from the sketch below, I flipped it on its head and went in the opposite direction of the tWist!  LOL!  I colored up my Easter basket with Copics, randomly choosing some nice spring colors.  I cut it out using a Stitched Arch STAX die and added it to a piece of Doodlebug patterned paper {cut, of course, with Blueprints 13}.  I’m trying to pull embellishments and papers from this massive stash I’ve accumulated over the years and grabbed some pretty satin double-sided ribbon.  {Of course, after putting the card together, I had a thought that I should have done a pink ribbon like that on the basket, but I like the blue and green.}  The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti Carton Cuties.  Some tiny stashed rhinestones finished it off.

FTHS142 – Color On

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  I hope you had a nice weekend!  We had a nice one here, a bit busy, but what else is new?! I’m here today with the new sketch from I {heart} Sketches.  Our tWist this week is to use a big sentiment and I was able to incorporate that into my card.

FTHS142 Keep Calm

I had a lot of fun with this one!  To start, I cut a piece of watercolor paper with Blueprints 13.  I used my SAI watercolor markers and created a rainbow background.  I then chose the “Keep Calm and Color ON” sentiment from the Copic Markers Birdbrain set.  It worked perfectly!  I cut the sentiment out with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die and adhered it to my watercolor background.  For my diagonal stripes, I used some white glitter ribbon and then added a rainbow of enamel dots.  {In order to get them to stick to the glitter, I used Glossy Accents as my glue.}  As a final touch, I added a pair of blue rhinestones to the crown – my own little sapphires!

FTHS141 Shake Your Flakes

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  We had beautiful weather yesterday that left the kiddos really itching for spring.  They had a quick scooter ride to the playground and back — with me trying to keep up behind them! LOL!

Today I have a card for the new I {heart} Sketches sketch.

FTHS141 Shake Your Flakes

I used another of the adorable snowmen from the Dancing Snowman set.  {This is a great value — there are 3 snowmen and four sentiments in this set.  All for $1.75!} I love the retro boom box!  It was a simple coloring — I colored up that scarf in green and then pulled out some fun green patterned papers to create a monochromatic card.
