FTHS Wee Bit o’Luck

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  We are back in much more normal March weather this week.  Last week the kids had shorts out and were running around without jackets.  This week, it’s cooler, rainy & drizzly and everyone is battling allergies & colds.  Never mind, the time change! UGH!

I have a card today for the midweek inspiration post over at From the Heart Stamps.  St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays {love me some bag pipes!} and Wee Bit and Lots o Luck is such a sweet image from FTHS.

FTHS NO LUCK

I colored up my jar of shamrocks with varying shades of green Copics and added a touch of Glossy Accents around the jar rim.  The image is cut with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die.  My dotted panel is Doodlebug paper, of course, cut with Blueprints 13.  I popped each layer up on Fun Foam to add some overall dimension.  The sentiment is included in the set and I cut it out with a Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die, doubling up to create the double flag.  To finish it off, I pulled out some OLD shamrock buttons and selected a nice, big glittery one.  I threaded the center with some twine and popped that up on dimensionals as well.  Finally some tiny rhinestones finished off the sentiment.

I wish you a wee bit o’luck for St. Patrick’s Day!  Make sure you stop by the FTHS blog to see what other fantastic projects my fellow design team members have created!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you again soon!

Good Luck Mouse

Happy Saturday all!  New challenge over at Catch the Bug today — a BINGO challenge.

This little Fat Mice – Flower image is so cute.  I had him in my colored stash of images and it worked perfectly for this challenge.

I went with Twine – Sentiment and Orange & Black.  Instead of creating a Halloween card, I decided to go with good luck.  When I look at this little mouse, it always seems like he is trying his best to hold on to that flower.

Link up your new creation with a BINGO from this board for a chance to win up to 7 free images.

Lucky Ladybugs

Happy Tuesday all!  Hope you had a nice Easter!  We had a nice day.  Relatively quiet, but sometimes that is what is needed.

Today is new release day at Bugaboo and Jodie had a sweet little birdhouse.

When I saw this image and that sweet little ladybug, I knew I wanted to use this sweet paper.  We’ve been swapping designer paper among our Bugaboo design team family and this sweet sheet of ladybug paper was included in one of my stacks.  I matched the two random papers up with New Leaf and Melon Mambo.  The layout is for this week’s The Sweet Stop challenge, which is to pick a past sketch in honor of their 3rd birthday.  I chose the sketch from challenge SSS09.

MFTWSC10 — Luck a la mode

Hi again!  I finally was able to participate in one of the My Favorite Things weekly sketch challenges.  I was finally able to get a few of the a la modes from my wish list a few weeks ago and inked them up the other day.

The Wishing You Luck a la mode is perfect for this week with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner.  I colored her up and cut her out with long rectangle Nesties.  The sweet colors are from Gina K and Basic Grey Two Scoops.  I added in some pink satin ribbon and a shamrock button.

Grow Some Luck!

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday!  Happy Birthday to my sister!  Today is oldie but goodie day at Bugaboo and given the upcoming St. Patrick’s holiday, I decided to pull out the St. Patrick’s Day Fancy Sunbonnet.

When I colored her up, I decided to go with the colors of the Irish flag.  I’ve mentioned how greens can drive me crazy — in particular the shamrock-y greens.  Well, this is the complete opposite.  I LOVE how this turned out.  While digging through my stash, I found some green striped vellum from Stampin’ UP and some orange striped from the Creepy Crawly patterned paper pack.  The layout is the current Sweet Stop sketch.  I had a package of shamrock buttons and they worked perfectly with this layout.  So fun!

All About Men

Good morning! Happy Saturday! I hope where ever you are, you are enjoying fabulous weather and relaxing! Our weekends are usually low key or filled with errands. I’m hoping we are more on the low key side this weekend!

Today starts another fun challenge over at Catch the Bug! This week, it is a two fold challenge. First, we are all about the men – whether that means a baby boy, a child, a graduate or a grumpy old Gus, it is up to you! Secondly, we have a great sketch from our oh-so-talented Scrappy. How she does it all, I don’t know!

First, here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the challenge:

I flipped the sketch to be able and use one of my favorite card orientations. I have to admit this stumped me a bit, but I’m happy with the outcome. Sean and his dog are so cute in their wagon. I did my usual “color & search” method — color the image, then look for paper. Basic Grey Cupcake papers were perfect for this and I paired them up with Ruby Red, Brocade Blue and Kraft. Sean is cut out with a circle Nestie instead of the oval and on the little plate on his wagon, I wrote good luck. I thought this would make a cute good luck card and “we’re pulling for you” would be perfect inside.

The Brocade Blue is punched with the Martha Stewart cornice punch. I added in a bit of sheer ribbon and some very teeny buttons to finish it off.

We’re pulling for you
