MFTWSC202 Thanks a Latte

Happy Monday!  It’s a gross, rainy and cold one here. YUCK!

I made up my MFTWSC card yesterday and opted to go with a 3×4 gift card holder.  Currently, everything I’m making is going into the craft fair stash, so it’s going to be Christmas, Hanukkah and Holiday Greetings from here on out.

I purchased the Perk Up set and the Coffee Cup die-namics last month.  My husband is a coffee junkie and has turned me into one to a degree as well.  Although, he would have an IV of coffee, if he could.  I made up my cup like the Starbucks red holiday cups.  The sentiment is stamped on a Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX and the additional strip above is the smallest flag, cut twice to create the double fishtail ends.  Inside is an additional embossed panel with the slits for the gift card.

I created an envelope to go along with the gift card using my envelope punch board.

Zombie Happy Meal

Hi all!  I’m here to sneak in one last Halloween project.  As I mentioned, I have been teaching a class at my kiddos’ school for the PTA enrichment program after school.  I based my class in paper crafting, obviously, and used the Envelope Punch Board as an additional basis.  This was a super fun project we made.  I found this awesome tutorial for a Happy Meal Box on youtube.

So I created my Happy Meal with some old Stampin’ Up paper. You’d want a decent weight paper to create a sturdy box.

After creating my box, I stamped a panel with Sweet Stamp Shop Zombies.  I kept the panel simple because it was going to be the inspiration for 9 year olds.  I colored my zombies with Copics and then sponged some Distress ink over the top to dirty them up.  My zombie girl has a spider on her head, which is quite fancy with a rhinestone body.

Inside the box, the zombie fingers and cracker fit quite nicely.  I had intended to put in a hamburger box with something, but it didn’t fit, amongst other issues (what to put in the box, box construction).

The “fries” are zombie fingers, which I cut with my Cameo.  I used different colors of Bazzill papers from Michaels for the fingers — they had the nice texture to them, which added to the fingers.

The fingers had a box to hold them up and we put a roll of Smarties in each finger.

Finally, the cracker was filled with Zombie Kisses.  I recently discovered Jaded Blossom stamps and absolutely love the candy stamps.  Super fun!

LOVEFEST2014C Hugs & Kisses

Hi all!  A quick post this morning!  I haven’t gotten very far with the Love Fest challenges this time around.  I’ve been extremely busy with preparations for a stamping get-together today with friends (including Michele & Cornelia), the kick-off event for our local Relay for Life and our PTA Art Show that I am chairing.  I’m really hoping to make it through the next week!

Today’s card is for Taylored Expressions’ Love Fest challenge, which was Doodle Do.

Doodling is not my strong suit, so I went with a little card (less area to fill or mess up! LOL).  I stamped my sweet jar from Hugs & Kisses in MFT Electric Red and added some x&o’s.  Around the edge I doodled with my Copic (not the best doodling tool) a heart and X border.  Of course, I had to make a coordinating envelope and had XO paper in my Doodlebug Lovebirds pack, which worked perfectly.

LOVEFEST2014A You’re Doggone Great

Happy Monday & Happy President’s Day in the US!  My kids had a half day of school today and we squeaked Valentine parties in.  It was a bit crazy, but I’m glad they were in school after having a 4 days weekend with snow days.
SCS kicked off Love Fest 2014 on Friday again and the member companies are hosting challenges.  I had a great time playing along last year and am doing so again this year.  The first challenge was Puppy Love hosted by the SCS crew.  I wanted to combine that challenge with the last PTI anniversary challenge of making a coordinating envelope.

I pulled out Tiny Treats: Valentine, which is perfect for a little 3×3 card.  I inked up the puppy and colored him up quickly & simply.  I did a simple red, white & black color combo, using polka dotted papers from PTI.  Again, I pulled out my Envelope Punch Board and make a simple envelope, wrapping it with twine, adding a few rhinestones and an oval for name.

MFTWSC163 Look Who’s Turning…

Hi all! Happy Sunday!  Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating the 1st birthday of our friends’ little girl.  It was a great night out and my whole family had a great time.

The little one’s mom is my crafty friend & enabler, Michele.  The last time I visited, she shared her latest purchase — an envelope punch board.  She convinced me of its awesomeness and when I was in Michaels this week, I had a 50% coupon that I put to good use.

Michele had been making 3×4 cards — a size I had never made or thought to make.  It works perfectly with a piece of 6×6 paper for the coordinating envelope.  So yesterday I whipped up a set for her daughter’s present.  I used this week’s MFTWSC sketch and make a sweet little birthday card.  I love these colors together — Orange Fizz and Sour Apple from MFT with patterned papers from Best Creation Let’s Party.

Here’s the set together.  Since the paper for the envelope is glittered, I figured writing on it would be a bit difficult, so I added in a Fishtail Flag of Sour Apple with another Negative Dot Number.
