FTHS Wee Bit o’Luck

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  We are back in much more normal March weather this week.  Last week the kids had shorts out and were running around without jackets.  This week, it’s cooler, rainy & drizzly and everyone is battling allergies & colds.  Never mind, the time change! UGH!

I have a card today for the midweek inspiration post over at From the Heart Stamps.  St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays {love me some bag pipes!} and Wee Bit and Lots o Luck is such a sweet image from FTHS.

I colored up my jar of shamrocks with varying shades of green Copics and added a touch of Glossy Accents around the jar rim.  The image is cut with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die.  My dotted panel is Doodlebug paper, of course, cut with Blueprints 13.  I popped each layer up on Fun Foam to add some overall dimension.  The sentiment is included in the set and I cut it out with a Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die, doubling up to create the double flag.  To finish it off, I pulled out some OLD shamrock buttons and selected a nice, big glittery one.  I threaded the center with some twine and popped that up on dimensionals as well.  Finally some tiny rhinestones finished off the sentiment.

I wish you a wee bit o’luck for St. Patrick’s Day!  Make sure you stop by the FTHS blog to see what other fantastic projects my fellow design team members have created!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you again soon!

KG Creations – Way to Go NYC!

Hi!  Happy Friday!  I’m on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog today {for the first time} with a rather quick, clean and simple card!

KG Way to Go NYC3

I love being able to embrace the clean and simple style – especially when short on time!  For my card today, I used the Pink Champagne sequin mix and pulled out only the tiny pink sequins.  They matched perfectly with my skyline, which was watercolored with SAI Watercolor Markers.  If you like pink, you need this sequin mix!  So soft & pretty!  My daughter says the sequins look like little pink bubbles floating up from the skyline!  The sentiment is from Avery Elle’s Circle It set and is stamped with VersaFine Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Make sure you check out the Kennedy Grace Creations store and get your sequin mix fix!  Don’t forget to stop back next week for some exciting happenings — NEW sequin mixes and STAMPS!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

Kennedy Grace Creations – February Release

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  I have a fun announcement today — I’m very excited to be joining the Kennedy Grace Creations Design Team.   If you love pretty sequin mixes, you need to check out the store.

Today is the blog hop for the February release and all of the new, gorgeous sequin mixes are available for purchase in the Kennedy Grace Creations store.

If you came here from the Kennedy Grace blog, you are on the right path.  If not, why not start there so you don’t miss anything!

KG Watermelon Love

For my card, I went clean and simple.  The new Watermelon Spritzer mix is just gorgeous — it’s a beautiful mix of watermelon sequins, two sizes of translucent/clear sequins and clear and gold round beads.  I used only the sequins on my card, as well as a few smaller sequins from Tinkerbelle’s Sparkle.  Now the watermelon sequins match perfectly with Berry Sorbet card stock from PTI.  For my card, I used a Berry Sorbet base and added a black panel with a Mega Mehndi Medallion (PTI) stamped & embossed with white embossing powder.  To that, I added a stack of love — I cut the MFT love die five times from Berry Sorbet and stacked them up.  I love to add dimension in that way.  Of course, then I added in my sequins to finish it off.   Love that pop of the sequins off the black card stock.

There is a prize giveaway, in honor of the blog hop & release.  Make sure you comment on each blog to increase your chances to win.  The winner will be announced on Monday on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog.

Your next stop on the blog hop is the talented Jessica — make sure you hop over there to see her gorgeous project.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

CTD379 Pink Paris

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  When I saw the current Color Throwdown challenge, I knew what I wanted to do.  First, here’s the swatch for this week.

And here’s my card…

CTD379 Pink Paris.jpg

If it appears that this is curving in, your eyes are not deceiving you.  My watercolor paper warped a lot and a night under my die bin didn’t help flatten it as I’d hoped.  But I love how it turned out!  I used my SAI watercolor markers to simply color a beautiful pink sky.  I then cut Paris out of Curious Metallic Gold Leaf.  I adhered the completed scene to a card base of Gold Leaf as well.  I stamped a sentiment from Tickled Pink in VersaFine Onyx and embossed it with clear embossing powder {This is my new fave way to do sentiments!!!}  Keeping it simple, I just added in a few sequins.

FTHS 138 – Snowman Snail Mail

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  I’m back with another From the Heart Stamps snowman for the newest I {heart} sketches sketch.

I used one of the newer Project 100 Snowmen sets — Snowman Valentine.  This is so sweet and I think works perfectly for any type of happy snail mail!

FTHS138 Snowmail Love

I went classic Valentine and classic clean and simple.  I colored up my image with Copics and cut it out with a Zig Zag Square STAX die.  I pulled out some papers, again from Doodlebug {adore their papers!}, and cut them to fit the angles.  After putting it all together, I added some Stickles for snow and on her hat.  I added in a heart rhinestone, which fit so nicely.  Finally, a little trio of red rhinestones up top finished it off.

Hope you’ll find the time to play along with us this week!  Remember, just for participating, you will receive a $1.00 credit to the FTHS store.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  I hope 2016 is a very Sweet ’16 for all of you!  I’m getting some crafting time in my room with my daughter today and am playing with some new goodies from MFT.  I have been trying to have a bit more willpower in buying new supplies, but did make a purchase on the last MFT 25% off sale.  I picked up some discontinued inks and some card stock, as well as the Paris and New York Skyline Border dies.  I’ve had them on my wish list since they came out and I’m so happy to have them in my hands!

During the winter months, I can see parts of the NYC skyline {a bit obstructed, mind you} from our house.  The sunrises over the city are frequently quite stunning and that was my inspiration for this card.  I started with a panel of Neenah Solar White cut with Blueprints 13, of course.  I then blended inks from Amuse {Blush, Berry, Bellini and Sky} and Mama Elephant Orangeade.  After letting that dry a bit, I stamped Happy New Year from Jaded Blossom  Happy New Year in Versafine Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I added in my skyline, which was cut from Black Licorice card stock.  To complete the front, I added in some small star rhinestones for a bit of twinkle.  Inside is another panel of Solar White cut with Blueprints 13 and I stamped an additional sentiment from the same Jaded Blossom set.

My Fave 15 of ’15!

Hi all!  Happy New Year’s Eve!  {Or in some cases Happy 2016!}  I’m getting a late start on this post today, but I thought I would share my favorite 15 cards of 2015.  The other day on Instagram, I shared what were the top 9 photographs I shared there, based on your likes!

In a somewhat chronological order….

15.  Level UP!

Limelight from MFT still remains a favorite color of mine!

14. Believe In Yourself

The best thing about this card: My friend still has it displayed on her refrigerator!
I always love a good rainbow, but this was even better.  Homemade enamel dots and using up tiny strips of brightly colored paper for that umbrella!
This was a fun card!  Birthday card for a sangria lover!
I did a lot of CAS cards this year and I absolutely love this one!
This was a two card post and I love both cards.  MFT’s Summer School sessions were great.  I love the sequined clouds and the lines of  X&O’s in pops of pink!
Of course, I like this card, but I really LOVE is the reason behind it!
I was on a search in 2015 to find this MFT set.  It was retired and almost impossible to find.  I posted on SCS on the ISO boards and a very lovely fellow stamper RAK’d the stamp set and dies to me.  I was prepared to pay for them, but she wouldn’t accept anything.  This card went back to her.
I decided to take the jump back into design team work in 2015 and was so excited to join the From the Heart Stamps design team.
Love these flamingos and I was so happy with this card!
I’m not usually a fan of gold, but I love the Delicata gold ink.  Perfect for an anniversary card!
One of my favorite FTHS images of this year.  Seriously, I giggle every time I look at that birdbrain!
Love when an idea translates from your head to the paper!
I picked up the FUSE tool this fall and love how I was able to make a completely flat shaker card.
So there you have my favorite 15 of 2015!  I wish you the happiest of 2016 and may it be a
Sweet ’16!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
