KGC -Framed Florals #1

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  This was a really full week in our house and I typed this up on Sunday.  Hopefully, I have made it to Friday!

Today I have the first of three florals I’ve made for my bathroom.  The bathroom is painted a beautiful rich blue, named Ole Blue Eyes (as in Frank Sinatra).  I’ve had three empty hooks, waiting for some new artwork.  First up will be the Beautiful Bloom – Hydrangea.

KGC Bath Hydrangea

I love this big, beautiful hydrangea.  I stamped it with VersaMark on watercolor paper using my MISTI.  I find for large images, I really need my MISTI.  I apply almost CPR-like pressure to the image to get firm and even stamping.  Then, I embossed it with black embossing powder.  To color my image, I used Gelatos again.  I smudged a few blues on my craft mat and mixed them together to get the blue hue I wanted.  Next, I used a few greens to color my leaves.  {As you can see a few bits crossed over outside the lines, but I was leaving it.}  I then used a peachy color to age the background a bit.  Since this will ultimately be behind glass, I kept this quite simple and added no embellishments.   Can’t wait to have all three up in my bathroom!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

A Denami Butterfly

**Blog Candy for a Cause located HERE**
**This is my second post today.  If you are looking for my Bugaboo Stamps Oldie But Goodie, please scroll down.**

Hey there!  I’m back with another card today!  I’m slowly ticking off my check list of cards featuring my generous donators for the blog candy, so you might see quite a few multiple post days.  Just an FYI, the blog candy contributions total $335 –the total on the walk page includes family & friends who have no desire to win the blog candy.  LOL!  I have another great CAS card using a DeNami Design image.

My friend Jenny is on the DeNami Designs design team and graciously lent me some stamps.  I chose this gorgeous butterfly and went with a very simple coloring.  As you can see, the layout is the same as my card from earlier today.  I really love this for a CAS card.  My color combo here is Gina K’s Ocean Mist (adore this color) and Pretty in Pink along with lots of white space.  I added in some stickles to the antennae and the pink area of the wings.  A few little pearls and some pink ribbon finished it off nicely.

If you were wondering, DeNami has generously donated 3 packages of their boutique buttons and 3 stamps, which is included with the 7th prize package.
