2014 Year in Review

Happy New Year’s Eve!  I decided last minute to do a 2014 Year in Review post.  The tale end of 2014 was quite craft heavy for me.  It started in September with cards for consignment.  October was Hope You Can Cling To on SCS.  Additionally, I was teaching a class at my kiddos’ school.  I then went directly into preparations for a holiday fair.  I also met my goal of completing all of the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenges for 2014. WHEW!!

Without further ado, my favorite projects of 2014.  Grab a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of champagne and take a peek at my faves.  I hope you see something to inspire you!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by!  My best wishes for a happy & healthy 2015!!

I’m linking to my archival month of September.  I pretty much loved almost everything I made in September.  I couldn’t pick.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

HYCCT1410 Just a Note

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  Or maybe I should say laundry day! Last night, 15 minutes past the time my kids are supposed to be in bed, we discovered a tick on my husband and on my daughter.  We were able to remove them and I started pulling everything to wash.  I will freely admit I’m not the most outdoorsy person and although our walk through the reservation was nice yesterday, finding ticks does not make outdoorsy things earn any brownie points with me!!  Another reason to stay in my craft room! LOL!

HYCCT1410 was “Something’s Missing” — in light of the surgeries many breast cancer fighters & survivors go through, we were to leave something off of the card.  Use a negative die cut, spotlight coloring, etc.  I was stumped for a bit on this one.  Then I tried something that I didn’t like the result.  Then I saw the current sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping and I knew what I wanted to do.

My missing piece is COLOR.  Often times, when I’m doing many challenges, I need to take the “easier” road and make simpler cards.  Otherwise, I’d get stuck in my usual style of many layers, colored images and two hour cards!  Not that there is anything wrong with that, but to quote Maverick & Goose “I feel the need, the need for speed.” So I pulled out my black & white washi tape and went to town.  I used sentiments from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Love Notes to create the sentiment line.  Quick, CAS & another challenge down!

Just a Note

Happy middle of the week!  We are definitely getting some April showers weather here in NJ.  Last weekend was very wet with a thunderstorm thrown in as well.  Hopefully everything will recover from the long winter and perk up nicely.  Although, I must admit that I could really do without the mud!

Today’s card features the super fun CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Love Notes set and coordinating die.

I wanted a super CAS card that featured this sweet Love Note die.  I cut the note out four times and then added strips of (rainbow, of course) paper behind the cuts to create a sweet effect.  The top panel is popped up to add a bit of dimension since I was doing a white on white card.  I stamped three little sets of notes and a sentiment in the lower corner for a really sweet card!
