FTHS August Blog Hop

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop. We have a “Use Your Stash” Theme this month. Our designers are showcasing lots of gorgeous projects.

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store. And one lucky commentator on the FTHS blog has the chance to win a $ 15 voucher.

If you have arrived from Brenda, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project, using Hang Loose Birdbrain and from my stash I used the following Stickles (in a color other than clear) and Glitter Dots.  My craft room was recently relocated & downsized so things are a bit crazy in the craft room.   It’s amazing what I have in my stash.  Stickles in so many colors and I primarily use the clear.  The Glitter Dots were a very favorite embellishment for a while — I loved adding the sparkle with a relatively low profile and no mess of actual glitter!

FTHS160 Aug Blog Surfboard Stash

I used the surfboard from the Hang Loose Birdbrain set.  I love that Faith does Birdbrain with the board, without the board and the board alone.  I colored it up using some tropical colors and cut it out with an MFT die.  I pulled some designer papers (also a stash — a ridiculous stash!) and cut it out with an MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die.  It’s matted on a piece of yellow card stock (sorry, can’t remember what color) cut with Blueprints 13, of course.  The sentiment is from an MFT set.

Now head over to Doni and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Sunday Aug 7th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday Aug 10th.

FTHS – From One Hot Chick…

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  Have you seen the freebies Faith has been providing at From the Heart Stamps recently?  They are fantastic!  Two weeks ago, she had the Hot Chick Flamingo and she’s just hilarious!

FTHS154 Hot Chick

I used the current i {heart} sketches with a tWist and did a very CAS card.  I lined up one of the sentiments from the set next to Flossie (I have no idea why, but I feel she needs a name.  So I’m naming her Flossie the Flamingo.)  My panel is cut with Blueprints 13 and she’s colored with Copics.  I then cut two Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX — the pink is actually a silk paper, which is just gorgeous!  I contemplated adding some rhinestones or bling to her feathers, but opted to keep it perfectly CAS.  Inside I added another panel with Happy Bird-day.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

For the hop, I pulled out the *NEW* Beautiful Blooms – Hydrangea set.  Purples are often not the favorite choice for me, but I love how this turned out.  The hydrangea image is such a beautiful focal point.  It’s colored with Copics and cut out with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die.  I wanted to add overall dimension, so I popped up the hydrangea panel and the purple panel on fun foam for even dimension.  To finish it off, I added pearls to each flower’s center.  I then pulled sequins from Isabella’s Dream and Morning Glory to finish it off.

KG Creations – Celebrate

Hi all! Happy Monday!  We have a new challenge this week at the Kennedy Grace Creations blog.  This week’s challenge is a sketch.

Here’s my take on the sketch:

KG April Sketch Celebrate

I used the just released Grace’s Little Notes to create the focal image.  I stamped the one floral image twice in a Stitched Circle STAX and colored them with Copics.  I knew I had some really old Basic Grey paper left that would compliment these flowers and colors.  I paired the Basic Grey with Simply Chartreuse and Hibiscus Burst from PTI.  The sentiment is popped up through the center of the flowers.  Finally, I added in sequins from Limeaid Ice and Paris in Spring.

Hope you’ll find the time to play along with us on this sketch!  You do not need to use Kennedy Grace Creations products, but if you have them, we’d love to see them!  Full details for the sketch challenge are located on the KG Creations blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

FTHS#145 Birdday

Hi all! Happy Monday!  Hope you had a lovely Easter holiday and weekend! I’m back today with the newest sketch for I {heart} Sketches.  It’s a super CAS sketch and I kept it just that way.

FTHS145 Birdday

I wasn’t kidding with the CAS!  I colored up the Birthday Candle Birdbrain.  I’m in a groove for coloring him with warm grey Copics.    He’s cut out with a Zig Zag STAX die.  The patterned paper is from Kaisercraft.  I popped up the birdbrain on dimensionals and then added some Stickles to the wick and Glossy Accents to his eyes.  Finally, I added in a trio of enamel dots.

Hope you get the chance to play along with us this week!  Remember, you receive a $1.00 credit to the FTHS store just for participating.

And, two new stamp sets — Grace’s Happy Heart and You Inspire Me.

KG HBday Grace Purple Lilacs with egg2

For my first card, I used Grace’s Happy Heart.  I stamped in VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I watercolored, using my very old SU watercolor pencils.  It’s a really lovely affect!  The flowers are cut out with a Pierced Traditional Tag STAX die and matted on a larger Traditional Tag STAX.  I wanted to keep this very CAS to allow for the image and sequins to shine.  The sentiment is also embossed and the sequins are from the lovely Spring Lilacs.

KG Hbday Grace Purple Lilac Close Up

For my second card, I’ve used You Inspire Me, Grace’s Happy Heart and Kindness Medley.

KG Grateful Kindness

I stamped another of the floral images from Grace’s Happy Heart on a piece of Neenah Solar White in a random pattern and colored them with Copics.  I then stamped the same image on another panel and colored again with Copics.  My sentiment is from You Inspire Me and is stamped in VersaFine Onyx and embossed.  I love the combination of the aqua and springy green of the Kindness Medley!

Now, before you head off to Cindy’s blog to see what gorgeousness she’s created, make sure you pay special attention to the photos along the way.  There will be 2 prize packages given away!  Below are the details!

There will be a hidden egg on two projects along this hop so be sure you check out everyone’s projects. You don’t want to miss this egg.  When you find it be sure to go over to Kennedy Grace Creations Instagram page and like the picture posted .  Leave a comment with which project had the hidden egg on it.  Be sure you also tag a friend.

We hope you have enjoyed this release and will hop along to see what our talented designers have made using the new stamps sets and sequins from the March release.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

Creative Knockouts — #133 Spring is on the Way

Hoppy Birthday

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  I’m here with some mid-week inspiration for From the Heart Stamps.

FTHS139 Hoppy Birthday take 3.jpg

I used the current sketch and the Birdbrain Brew image to create a birthday card for my husband.  Masculine cards aren’t always the easiest, but I love how this turned out.  I colored my birdbrains and their beer with Copics.  Then I cut it out with a Zig Zag Square STAX die.  To compliment the colors, I used papers from Doodlebug to create a fun background.  I wanted to keep it on the minimalist side for embellishments, but it still needed something, so I added some homemade enamel dots (melted Perler beads!) and some Liquid Applique foam.
