MFTWSC189 BABY

Hi all!  Well, we have returned from our vacation in Wisconsin and I’m really wishing we were still there!  We didn’t do as much as in past summers, but still a lot.  It’s hard to believe the kids have about 2 weeks left of summer vacation.  I have lots of home improvement projects I’d like to take on once they are in school, so I plan to be quite busy!

Before I left Wisconsin, I had to make a baby shower card for my cousin’s girlfriend.  We’ve had a little baby boom again in my family and all boys!

Like I mentioned, I bought limited supplies with me to Wisconsin.  I had my die binders, chock full of MFT die-namics and an MFT shipping box with an assortment of papers and a fair amount of MFT stamps.  I then grabbed a scrapping caddy I had received years ago and filled it with inks, blocks, some embellishments and tools.   Seeing how I can manage without all of the tools and supplies I have in my craft room, I am beginning to think a HUGE destash should happen!  Especially the patterned paper — but they are so pretty, it makes me not want to get rid of them!

Anyway, for this sketch, I flipped it and pulled some greens since I didn’t pack much in blues.  I used my Gingham background stamp again — they are certainly paying off!  The balloons are cut with the Balloon STAX dies and at the same time of cutting the balloon, I cut out the Peek-a-Boo Uppercase Alphabet letters on each.  There wasn’t enough pop on the balloons when I put them down, so I used white embroidery floss to stitch the balloons.  A little pierced fishtail flag with a SU sentiment, some twine and a few little rhinestones finished it off.

B-A-B-Y

Hi all!  A real quick post tonight.  Did anyone watch the Oscars last night?  We typically don’t get to too many movies, unless it is an animated feature, but I enjoy watching the awards.  We did see Argo and I was very happy it won.  I also enjoy the fashion, which was rather underwhelming, in my humble opinion.

My card today is one I made for a good friend who recently had a baby.  She’s a fellow crafty card maker and my husband noted that was a stumbling block for me.  LOL!   She just had her second baby and her family threw her a little shower before the birth.

One thing I discovered was I have a very small selection of baby stamps.  Probably because most of my friends are 40+ and past baby having days.  I pulled out the set of gel-a-tins letters I had purchased on clearance from Archivers a few summers ago.  The set is called golly gee big letters and golly, gee, they are quite big!  I had to make a big square card to accommodate just four letters.  I paper pieced them with Doodlebug Sugar & Spice papers, which pair up nicely with Summer Sunrise from PTI.  I added a sweet pair of feet charm to the bow.

Inside I created a pocket for the gift card we were giving her.  Very quick and simple!

Rocking Horse

Happy Friday all!  I’m into full swing Christmas preparations.  I’m actually ahead of the game as I’ve already completed gifts for the kids’ teachers.  I’ll be showing you next week during Bugaboo’s 12 Days of Gift Giving!  The festivities start on Monday.

Today I have a sweet card featuring the new release available today in the Bugaboo Stamps store.

This sweet rocking horse has so many possible uses.   You could use for baby showers, Christmas, Baby’s 1st Christmas, etc.  I went with more of a Christmas feel, but left the sentiment open.  The designer paper is from American Crafts Merrymint.  I found this pack at Target and kudos to AC for the design — they have the additional 1/4″ at the top, but included a perforation on the papers to make them easy to remove from the pack.  This was a very simple design, but I added in a double bow of satin & sheer ribbons.

Sweet Baby Moon

Hi all! Happy Monday!  I’ve been enjoying children who are getting along today and the peacefulness that comes with that!  My son’s birthday party was Saturday and I am so glad to have all of that prep and work behind me.  While the kids have been peacefully playing, I took advantage and made up a baby card for my daughter’s teacher, who had a baby girl a few weeks ago.

I had this sweet moon image colored already and since I’ve recently organized all of my 6×6 paper pads, I was able to find what I wanted quite easily.  I used an old Taylored Expressions sketch.  The papers are from Recollections.  The cloud is outlined with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  A trio of pearls and a nice big pink satin bow with a moon & star charm finish it off.

Baby Gift for Mrs. Healy

Hi all!  WOW!  It’s been awhile!  Been very busy with life — my husband and I were able to take a short getaway to Boston.  It was the first time we’d been away since getting married 8 years ago!  It was so wonderful to do grown-up meals and conversations.   Then it was a return home to finish up my birthday party plans.  So it’s been a bit busy!

My daughter, who finished first grade last week,  had been without her beloved first grade teacher since June 1st.  She is expecting any day now.  Her last day there was a party for her and we made her a scrapbook for the baby’s first year and a card.

Just a very simple baby card.  I used PaperTrey Ink’s Bitty Baby Blessings.  I love the onesie stamp in this set and it is so easy to cut out and decorate.

Baby Made Me Eat It!

Good Morning!  I can’t believe it has been almost two weeks since I’ve posted!  I will explain a bit about that in another post, but today we have a new challenge for Bugaboo Stamps.  It’s a double challenge this week — first, the color aspect — pink + green + black and second, the following sketch:

And here is my interpretation:

I’ve had this JJ pregnancy image colored for over a year and never put her on a card.  Well, that is remedied now.  Now, I must admit that I forgot about the black aspect of the color combo until I had everything glued down.  So my black comes in the form of those little rhinestones.  The sentiment is from the Baby Made Me JJ Pregnancy image.  I’m going to keep this short & sweet, so there you have it.

Link up your new project to the Catch the Bug blog for your chance to win up to 7 free images from Bugaboo.

Tiffany Doodles — Carriage Sneak Peak

Hi all!  I just can’t seem to get into any sort of groove.  A few weeks ago, things were just rolling so well and now it’s a struggle.  It is highly frustrating!  Hopefully things start rolling again soon!

Anyway, today I have a sneak peak of a new image from Tiffany Doodles.  This adorable carriage will be available in the store on Friday.

Isn’t that an adorable image?  That cute little bird on the handle is just too much — reminds me of the sweet birds in Snow White.  I wanted to go with a gender neutral card, so I chose to surprise — paper piece the carriage with some Memory Box Pixie paper.  I paired it with Lemon Tart and Spring Moss.  The layout is really simple — adding in a bow, some pearls and a sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages.

Make sure you check out the other design team peaks today over on the Tiffany Doodles’ blog and then pick up your own baby carriage on Friday.
