KG Creations – Way to Go NYC!

Hi!  Happy Friday!  I’m on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog today {for the first time} with a rather quick, clean and simple card!

KG Way to Go NYC3

I love being able to embrace the clean and simple style – especially when short on time!  For my card today, I used the Pink Champagne sequin mix and pulled out only the tiny pink sequins.  They matched perfectly with my skyline, which was watercolored with SAI Watercolor Markers.  If you like pink, you need this sequin mix!  So soft & pretty!  My daughter says the sequins look like little pink bubbles floating up from the skyline!  The sentiment is from Avery Elle’s Circle It set and is stamped with VersaFine Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Make sure you check out the Kennedy Grace Creations store and get your sequin mix fix!  Don’t forget to stop back next week for some exciting happenings — NEW sequin mixes and STAMPS!

Hello You!

Hi there!  Well, I didn’t intend to take such a long break from blogging!  I was away for a month and had planned to have things to share, but blogging was way down on the list of priorities!  I’m back, trying to get my bearings again and get a routine of sorts for the kids before they start school in 13 days!!  I’m very fortunate to have kids who like LOVE school and they are excited for the school year to start.

While I was away, my big Making Memories wall cabinet/organizer/whatever you call it, fell down.  One bracket broke off and it rotated.  Luckily, I have a magnetic knife strip from IKEA underneath and it kept the shelf from falling completely off the wall.  So I came back to an even bigger mess in my craft room than what I left with.  I did some moving around and am trying to still get everything put away.

I made sure to leave a clear space to actually create at.   I had ordered the Avery Elle Petal Panel die and the coordinating additions dies and stamps.  I just adored everything that I saw with this die.    Yesterday, I sat down and played with it a bit and LOVE it even more.

Okay, seriously, I just adore this die!  Of course, I think of peacocks when I look at it, so I opted for a very striking color combo.  I cut my panel from True Black (PTI) and then used the coordinating Petal Panel Additions to cut Blue Raspberry (Gina K) and Grape Jelly (MFT).   Before putting everything together, I stamped Hello You from the Petal Panel stamp set in VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I set to putting all of the “feathers” in to their slots.

When I first started out, I wasn’t intending to create a shaker card.  I decided I wanted to add in some shimmer so I cut fun foam with the Petal Panel to adhere to the back.  {Full disclosure: I’m not really certain how many layers I have back there, but there is a lot of dimension on this card! LOL!} One of these times, I will remember to buy some baby powder to use in my shaker cards to prevent my sequins from sticking to the foam tape!  I added a piece of Stardream Metallic Kunzite paper to the back and adhered it to my card base.

Have a Sweet Birthday

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  Just popping in with a quick post.  I used an image from Kathy Rac’s first 30 Day Coloring Challenge to create this sweet card.

I love this sweet little cupcake peeker image from Bugaboo Stamps.  I pulled some Doodlebug Fruit Stand paper to compliment her colors and used a sketch from Handmade Bliss.  {I used MFT Stitched Circle Frames, which you can find in their store.}  My sentiment is from Avery Elle’s Bonjour and I created a double ended flag with my Fishtail Flags STAX.  I pulled out some neglected Glitter Dots, which I LOVE and added them to the sentiment and circle frame to finish it off.

Bonjour & Stamps for Sale

Bonjour! Comment allez-vous? And there we have the extent of my French! LOL!  Before I get to today’s card, I wanted to mention that I have stamps for sale.  You can find the post on the Shoppe page.

My card today is a very CAS pile of {Avery Elle} macaroons. A CAS pile that doesn’t need much explanation.   I recently discovered that I like to look at macaroons a bit more than eating them, which is probably a good thing.  They aren’t a cookie I could sit down and eat an entire pile.  But they are oh, so pretty!

Merci Beaucoup

Happy Monday!  Last week I had an impromptu stamping day with my friend Michele.  I wasn’t sure if I could squeeze it in with Art Gallery prep, but I was so happy that I did, in fact, squeeze it in.  The second of the cards I made is below.  I’ve long had the Avery Elle Bonjour set and coordinating dies on my wish list.  I played with it on Wednesday at my friend’s and have since ordered my own set.

Unbeknownst to me, Friday was National Macaroon Day.  I wish I had known because I would have put this up then! {I also would have insisted on stopping at the Macaroon store in the mall!! Yup, there is actually a store dedicated to macaroons and coffee.}

Again, I went very CAS with this card.  I cut out two macaroons and stamped them with Blu Raspberry ink from MFT.  I double stamped the one to give it a deeper color than the other.  My panel is cut with a Mama Elephant die.  I simply adhered the macaroons (one on dimensionals) and stamped the sentiment.  Some clear sequins finished it off.

2014 Year in Review

Happy New Year’s Eve!  I decided last minute to do a 2014 Year in Review post.  The tale end of 2014 was quite craft heavy for me.  It started in September with cards for consignment.  October was Hope You Can Cling To on SCS.  Additionally, I was teaching a class at my kiddos’ school.  I then went directly into preparations for a holiday fair.  I also met my goal of completing all of the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenges for 2014. WHEW!!

Without further ado, my favorite projects of 2014.  Grab a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of champagne and take a peek at my faves.  I hope you see something to inspire you!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by!  My best wishes for a happy & healthy 2015!!

HYCCT1419 LOVE Bricks

Happy Thursday!  My kids are off today and tomorrow for teacher convention.  My husband is also off and hopefully, we won’t drive each other all crazy.

Continuing with my HYCCT cards today, I have my card for HYCCT1419, which was to “spread it around” — use embossing paste on your card.  I do not have embossing paste in my stash, but discovered an awesome recipe for it on SCS.  If you mix equal parts white glue, white acrylic paint and talcum powder, it works like a champ.  I didn’t have any unscented powder, so I used one of my scented powders from Avon and my card smells quite lovely.

I used my MFT brick wall stencil to create my backdrop.  I wanted this to feel like writing on a wall.  The Love is cut from Melon Mambo with the Avery Elle die.  The sentiment is from Simply Said: Love from Avery Elle.  It is such a fun set, with goofy and serious completions to the “love…”  I kept this very clean and simple, adding in a few tiny pearly rhinestones.
