One Special Person…

Hi all!  I’m excited to have a card for the latest MFT Card Challenge sketch again!  Two weeks in a row!!

MFTWSC349 EC Ski Anniversary

A very special couple is celebrating their anniversary this weekend.  This quote from Rita Rudner {CS About Anniversaries – retired} is perfect for them! I stamped the Romantic Script Background stamp in Grout Gray on a piece of white cardstock, cut with Blueprints 13.  I cut two Pierced Traditional Tag STAX {retired} from Smokey Shadow and Soft Stone {PTI} and stamped the Rita Rudner quote in Steel Grey.  I then cut three small Pierced Fishtail Flags {also retired}.  A trio of little rhinestones and pearls finished it off, keeping it rather simple for mailing.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

MFTWSC250 You & Me

Hi all! Happy Saturday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Yesterday was our 11th wedding anniversary. We always try to do a small gift within the modern or traditional gift vein. For the 11th, the choices were steel or fashion jewelry. Of course, I said MFT die-namics are steel! LOL! We didn’t do our gift exchange yet so we shall see what he decided on — he doesn’t like to buy me craft supplies. I got him a steel “keep cool” beer mug and filled it with root beer Jelly Belly’s. I may have stolen a few!

Today I have the card I made for him (this morning — talk about being behind!) I was a bit stumped by this week’s MFTWSC sketch, but I think I figured it out.

I pulled out lots of MFT goodies to make this card. I inked up the Lace Background stamp with Delicata Gold ink and stamped on to Vintage Cream card stock (PTI). I did heat set the ink a bit since I was under a time constraint. I then inked up another piece of Vintage Cream with the Romantic Script background in Steel Grey. Using my MISTI for both of these background made for easy stamping. After cutting a Pierced Circle from Vintage Cream, I stamped the You and Me from Always & Forever in Versamark and embossed it with black embossing powder. Amazingly, I remembered to use my embossing buddy before stamping. I never remember that! I cut a small ampersand from gold cardstock (I think this is the gold shine card stock in the MFT store.) I then cut a Sentiment Strip from Vintage Cream and stamped again with Delicata the Happy Anniversary from Clearly Sentimental about Anniversaries. Finally, I popped up my circle and the sentiment strip with some dimensionals and added a trio of gold sequins.

Always & Forever

Hi all! Hope you are enjoying a long weekend here in the US.  Today marks the 15 anniversary of my first date with my husband.  It wasn’t a true first date as other people were along, but we mark it as the first.  We saw The Kings of Comedyso not a date movie — and scheduled a second date with an equally bad movie Autumn in New York.  LOL!

So today I’m sharing an anniversary appropriate card.

I think this turned out quite lovely.  I stamped a piece of Vintage Cream {cut with Blueprints 13} with the Lace background stamp from MFT in Grout Gray.  I love the subtlety of it!  I then cut an ampersand from the cream card stock and then stamped Always and Forever in Delicata Gold ink.  I opted to create a little shaker in the ampersand and filled it with some beads and sequins.  Just the right amount of sparkle.

HYCCT1423 Damask Tissue

Happy Election Day!  Make sure you exercise your right to vote today!  Lose your right to complain if you don’t!  I’ll be so glad when today is through because the political ads are enough to send anyone over the edge!

Enough about that and on to my card for today.  The challenge for HYCCT1423 was to use tissue paper on your card.  I opted to use the Faux Silk technique.

I had pink tissue paper on hand and stamped the largest damask shape from MFT Damask Designs in Razzle Berry ink.  I then crumpled it a bit and cut it out with a Circle STAX die, adhering it with spray adhesive to another white circle the same size.  The card design was kept very simple to allow for that POP of the image.  The designer paper is from Echo Park Be Mine.  The sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental about Anniversaries.  A few sequins and done!

MFTWSC168 & MFTCPC3 Happy Anniversary

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  It’s a big day in our household!  We are getting a new dishwasher!!! LOL! Our dishwasher broke last February and we’ve been doing dishes for a year.  My mom and grandma have never had a dishwasher, so I’m sure they would say “big deal.” Except we have the world’s stupidest sink in our kitchen.  It’s set at an angle and you can’t use it well.  We had hoped to be doing our entire kitchen, but that isn’t in the plans or budget this year.  So a new dishwasher it is!!

Today I have my MFTWSC card.  I am making a bunch of cards this week for consignment in a gift shop.  The blog will be a bit busier than it has been in a while!  WOOHOO!

I really like how this turned out!  I combined this week’s sketch with this month’s Color Palette Challenge.  It’s such a springy color combo!  The Double Dot Border die-namic was my inspiration for the embossed polka dots and spots.  I cut out a ring of Grapesicle with my Circle STAX and some pretty butterflies using die-namics.

MFTWSC93 Working Together is Success

Happy Tuesday!  Today is our 8th wedding anniversary.  We are planning a nice meal at home for just us — hopefully, the kiddos will cooperate and take a little screen time while we are eating.  We usually try to buy gifts according to the year’s modern or traditional gift.  However, this year, we were just not able to come up with things.  So we did 8 little gifts — I wrapped each gift individually in Christmas paper!  LOL!  I stocked up a good number of years ago at Target on post-Christmas sales and bought far too much. My goal is to put a major dent in it this year (without giving a million gifts), so I got a start this month.

My card for my husband uses the MFT set Clearly Sentimental about Anniversaries and the current MFT WSC sketch.  He actually attempted to make a card for me last night, but I think he was a bit overwhelmed by the crafty tools and gave up! LOL!

I absolutely love how this turned out!  This quote is perfect for us, I think.  We have had to take so many “plan B” options along the way — starting with our wedding ceremony due to weather!  We’ve mastered the plan B.  I’m hoping some of plan A options work out in the future! 🙂

The papers are from Making Memories Black Tie, which gives this such an elegant feel.

Love in Venice

Hi all! Happy Wednesday! I have the card I made for my husband for our anniversary.  The funny thing was on Saturday I hadn’t made a card yet and he told me I could cheat and buy one.  I really didn’t want to do that so I started going through my stash of colored images.  The Paper Shelter has this adorable Love in Venice image, which I had to have since we took our honeymoon in Venice, Italy.  We had a delayed honeymoon and by the time we went, I was pregnant with our daughter.  Unfortunately, I was extremely sick and have too many memories of getting sick in the Grand Canal.  However, we did manage a gondola ride without me getting sick — I credit eating a lot of gelato with making that happen. LOL!

I wasn’t sure how this was going to come together, but I really like it.  The designer papers are from Authentique Journey — they matched up perfectly with my blues.  However, I couldn’t find any actual blue cardstock to go with these colors.  Too blue, too green, too completely far off.  Basic Black and Kraft paired up really nicely.  I matted my image on a pair of intertwined lacey circle nesties.  A pretty blue bow, sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed Messages and some rhinestones finished it off.
