KG Creations – Believe, Inspire & Grateful

Hi all!  It has been a rough two weeks in our household.  Everyone got sick with a weird flu/fever/über-fatigue bug, which was compounded by seasonal allergies & colds.  My poor son has a ridiculous cough that tires him out and keeps him up at night.  We are hopefully rounding the bend and getting to the point of an actual night’s rest.

Today I have a set of sweet 3×3 notecards I made using the new Kennedy Grace Creations stamp set, You Inspire Me and the new sequin mix, Kindness Medley.  As soon as I saw this set, I loved it.  I love the big trio of words and the pretty font — I think my adoration for pretty, script fonts is that I do not like my own handwriting!  The stamps are lovely — I’ve gotten nice, crisp images straight out of the package.

These were super simple and quite quick to make.  I cut watercolor paper with a Zig Zag STAX die and used Gelatos to watercolor a swash of background.  To get the green I was going for, I mixed two of my Gelatos together.  After letting that dry a bit (the longest part of the process), I stamped the large word in VersaFine Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I then stamped the smaller words and completing sentiments on scraps of card stock.  The trickiest part was getting those little pieces cut straight!  Each of those sentiments is popped up on dimensionals.

Believe it or not, I did NOT use all of the sentiment combinations available in this stamp set.  There are still more!  Plus, there are an additional 10 little images — hearts, flowers, leaves, dots — included in the set.  Finally, I added in sequins.  This is such a pretty sequin mix and I love the colors together!  Now, off you go to the KG Creations store to pick up your own stamp sets & sequin mixes!  You won’t be disappointed!

PTI SAF 2014 — Challenge #11 Stencil Layers

Going in to the 60s, the first challenge was to make stencil layer with gradient shades of card stock and ink.  I opted again for a little 3×3 and used the Love Potion set instead of the included 60s kit.   I am not sure I got the desired effect, but I think the card is cute anyway.  I stamped each with the grid stamp that was included in the 60s kit.

LOVEFEST2014A You’re Doggone Great

Happy Monday & Happy President’s Day in the US!  My kids had a half day of school today and we squeaked Valentine parties in.  It was a bit crazy, but I’m glad they were in school after having a 4 days weekend with snow days.
SCS kicked off Love Fest 2014 on Friday again and the member companies are hosting challenges.  I had a great time playing along last year and am doing so again this year.  The first challenge was Puppy Love hosted by the SCS crew.  I wanted to combine that challenge with the last PTI anniversary challenge of making a coordinating envelope.

I pulled out Tiny Treats: Valentine, which is perfect for a little 3×3 card.  I inked up the puppy and colored him up quickly & simply.  I did a simple red, white & black color combo, using polka dotted papers from PTI.  Again, I pulled out my Envelope Punch Board and make a simple envelope, wrapping it with twine, adding a few rhinestones and an oval for name.

Monster Block Minis

Hi all!  Happy Tuesday!  We are in the process of drying out after Irene passed by.  We had quite a bit of water in our basement and spent much of Sunday pumping & scooping it out.  We were prepared with things being off the floor, but since it is our family area, it is a big PITA!  However, after her wake, we are looking at wonderfully nice weather for the remainder of the week.

Today’s new release from Bugaboo Stamps is a super cute set of Monster Blocks.  I used 6 of the 8 images for a fun set of 3×3 cards.

Each monster is colored with Copics and cut out with a rectangle Nestie.  I kept things very simple — using fun papers and a trio of embellies to accent each.  The glittery papers are from Doodlebug — some of my old stash of sugar papers and DCWV (the green).  Rhinestones & Glitter Dots were perfect accompaniments.  A pair have googly eyes and most have Glossy Accents on their teeth and/or claws.

Pop on over to the store to get your own adorable monsters, check out the deal of the day (a 50% off savings) and all of the other Bugaboo cuteness & sassyness!
