Hi all! I’m back again today (shocked, I know!) with an entry for MFT’s Card Design Superstar contest. I was actually able to pull out two cards today and just in case I find another stuck somewhere back in my mind, I wanted to have enough time to post them by Friday’s entry deadline!
I love how this turned out! I started by coloring with Gelatos on some watercolor paper. I wanted to mimic sunset colors, but on the softer side, so I stuck with some oranges, blush and pinks. After drying my paper, I cut it with Blueprints 13 to have it line up perfectly with my white panel cut with the Mini Chicken Wire Cover Up. Before gluing my panel down, I spritzed it with Sheer Shimmer for a touch of sparkle. Then, to give it even dimension, I used fun foam to pop up the entire panel on my Pink Lemonade card base.
I then pulled out two Pink Lemonade flamingos — they were extra from a previous card and I don’t get rid of my extras. I save them and just recently started storing them in baseball/trading card sleeves. Anywho……..I glued my flamingos down on a Zig Zag Stitched Oval, making them appear like one was giving the other a hug. Their feathers are popped up with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Tickled Pink and I stamped that onto a Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX. The sentiment and the oval panel are all popped up on dimensionals.
