You’re Like a Sister to Me

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  We are enjoying an absolutely beautiful summer day here.  Sunny, warm and not too humid.  It should be a repeat tomorrow and we are hoping for a beach day.

Today I have a card for the MFT Summer School Day #2 Composition: Focal Point.

I had inked up a piece of Neenah Solar White with the Diagonal Stripe Background in Limelight, but then changed my mind on my project, so it was just sitting on my desk.  Today I was looking for a quick card to make — my desk is a fiasco and my creative muscle is being a wimp lately  so I’m looking for any little bit of help.   I started with my diagonal strip background {cut, of course, with Blueprints 13} and a Grout Gray base.  I pulled out True Friends and picked the “You’re Like a Sister to Me.”  I stamped the sentiment twice in Steel Grey with my MISTI on Solar White.  I cut a Stitched Circle Frame in Razzle Berry and framed my sentiment.  Then I cut a strip of Limelight with a Vertical Stitched Strip die.  Since I’ve used my flutter of butterflies a lot and I initially kept all of the dies linked, I had a lot of extra butterflies available.  I took two solid and two lace butterflies and alternated them in a pretty stack.  To finish it off, I added in some pretty green translucent sequins and a spritz of MIX-ables Sheer Shimmer.
