Watercolor Butterflies

Hi all! Happy Friday!  Happy last day of school for my kids!  My kids have been fortunate to have really excellent teachers and have really excellent experiences.  My son commented this morning that he wished it was the first day of school and not the last because he loved his teacher so much.  My next trick will involve us all making it through the summer without getting our last nerves!

I did have a bit of time to play this morning before picking them up.  To say that I adore the Flutter Butterflies – Lace dies from MFT would be an understatement.  Today’s Summer School session involved white space and I’m really happy with how this turned out.

I scribbled some gelatos in rainbow colors on a piece of watercolor paper and then wet it.  After drying it a bit, I cut the two largest butterflies.  I cut a panel of Neenah Solar White with Blueprints 13 and stamped a sentiment from Tickled Pink in Steel Grey.  The panel is popped up with dimensionals and I glued the butterflies down, only in the center.  To finish it off, I added just a trio of sequins.

  1. I've been on the fence about buying these butterflies and I think you've convinced me. They are lovely and work perfectly for the photo challenge at The House That Stamps Built this week. Thanks for your participation and good luck on your entry. Take Care.
