Happy Birthday Butterflies

Hi all!  Happy Sunday!  We are off for baseball activities today.  My son was asked to play in a special East-West game today.

There is another The Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge going on, but I haven’t had a ton of time to participate.  On Friday, I was able to play a bit with watercoloring a background and I got that onto a card.

I cut a piece of watercolor paper with my Blueprints 13 {I completely admit to being addicted to the stitched edge.} I then stamped the Simply Circles background in Versamark and embossed it in white.  To color the circles in, I opted to use my SAI Watercolor Brush pens.  I haven’t used these a lot, but they produce beautiful color.  Then, while it was drying, I was pondering what to put on the background without covering it up too much.  Butterflies go well with rainbows — things that have to make you smile, so I cut out three sets Flutter of Butterflies in solid & lace to pair up.  The sentiment is from You’re the Sweetest and I embossed that as well on a Sentiment Strip in Kraft.  Some rhinestones finished off the butterflies and the sentiment.

Pretty Pink Posh – Watercolor Blog Hop
