Happy Happy Birthday – Shaker Style

Happy Thursday all!  I wanted to try out a shaker card today — I haven’t done many shakers, but with all of the video tutorials MFT is providing this week, I should be well on my way to many!

I love how shaker cards allow you to have that POP & WOW factor without having to add on a ton or do a ton of work.  For my card, I cut out three panels using the Blueprints 13 frame — two from white card stock and another from transparency.  I then cut one white panel with the happy word die twice.  I glued down my transparency and then added in a slew of foam tape around the words, creating two different wells.  Now, my selection of sequins and beads is not too expansive, so I just picked colors that went with the bead assortment I had.  {We are talking really old beads — Stampin’ UP blue glass beads!}  I filled my wells with a mix of sequins and beads.  Then I carefully pealed up my papers — very painstakingly carefully because one pull in the wrong direction and beads everywhere!  Once I pulled them all off, I put down the second piece of white card stock to cover it all.  I then adhered it to an Orange Zest card base.
