HYCCT1403 Sunburst of Pink

TGIF!  The sun is shining today!  YEAH!  We aren’t being deluged by rain! YEAH!! Unfortunately, my focus seems to have flown away with the rainy weather of this week.  I have lots I should be doing in my craft room — finalizing pieces of work for the class I’m teaching and keeping on top of my HYCCT challenges.  My class prep is considerably done, but I need to type up directions and make sure what I have can be finished in an hour.  9 year olds are not as speedy as my experienced self.  LOL!  Most of the HYCCT challenges are down to those that require a special technique and require me to figure that out.  We are also in the final week of Halloween prep.  As we just finished reading Harry Potter and watched the last two movies last weekend, my kids are going as Harry and Hermione.  My husband and I are debating dressing up as well.  He wants to be a dementor and I’m likely going to be Professor McGonagall.  Of course, the costumes still have to come together.  So I’m procrastinating it all and typing up a blog post instead.  LOL!

My HYCCT today was for HYCCT1403 Stripping Down — use strips or scraps for your background. I opted to create a sunburst, a technique I learned in last year’s HYCCT challenges.

I pulled random pieces of pink patterned paper to make my sunburst.  This is such a fantastic way to use up scraps.  I added in a punch of black with some ruffled ribbon.  The sentiment is from one of my favorite sets, MFT Clearly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn.  To finish it off, I added in some tiny pearly rhinestones.  Well, I should probably get back to it and accomplish something!  LOL!
