MFTWSC187 Life is a Picnic

Hi all!  Hope you had a great weekend!  My kids and I are in Wisconsin, visiting family.  Today we went to a small town fireman’s parade and were lucky enough to see a small group of kids from the UW Madison marching band.  They always put on such a great performance!

Since we are here for almost a month, I opted to bring crafting supplies with me.  I have all of my MFT dies in binders, so I brought them with my Big Shot along, as well as a good selection of MFT stamps, some embellishments and card stock.  I brought NO PATTERNED PAPER with me — how could I pick packs to bring with?  Way too difficult!  Background stamps to the rescue!

For this week’s sketch, I pulled out my Gingham Background Stamp and Birdie Brown Every Day is a Picnic.  I only brought a small handful of Copics, so my choices were limited, but thankfully, the colors worked with my card stock and ink choices!  I stamped a piece of Grout Grey with the Gingham in Electric Red.  I cut a big fishtail tag with Blueprints 13, which I stamped some grass and a butterfly, as well as the sentiment.  Birdie Brown is cut out with her coordinating die and popped up on dimensionals.   The centers of her flowers and her straps are filled with a Souffle pen in yellow — my mother-in-law sent me a set for my birthday and they are AWESOME!

If you check out this picture, you can see the yellow centers are slightly more amplified (I was in the sun a lot today and I’m having a hard time coming up with a better word! LOL!)
