Hi again! I’m trying to get all of my Christmas in July cards posted and today will get caught up in challenges. Not too bad considering tomorrow is the last day! Since I have 3 cards again today, I’m going to get straight to it.
Tuesday’s challenge was a recipe challenge of Kraft, embossing (dry or wet) and snowflakes.
I love having a bunch of snowman cards around! A — they are cute! B — They are great for Christmas and Winter. C — They are great if you have friends and family who do not celebrate Christmas. This guy was in my colored image stash. With his brightly colored jacket and scarf, I opted to go very neutral on the card. The base is kraft and the white is embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder. I added in a blue polka dotted bow — I’ve had this ribbon in my stash for ages — and some glittery snow balls, which fit perfectly in his hand. Lastly, I blasted it with MIX-ables Mist from MFT.
Wednesday’s challenge was a BINGO challenge + make it funny.
Here’s my funny — I was going through my stash of uncolored images and came across this JJ Christmas Ornament image. Instantly, I heard Miley Cyrus belting out “I came in like a wrecking ball…” in my head. When I printed my next group of images, I tacked on a sentiment of “The holidays came in like a wrecking ball!” LOL! For BINGO – I used Bugaboo Image, Players Choice and Bow. The layout is this week’s Sunday Sketch challenge, which worked perfectly for a big round image. I kept things rather simple — LOVE that silver sheer ribbon — it makes beautiful bows. I added some Snow Marker to her skirt and the tag, but had some issues with it when heating it — it wasn’t puffing up and then I burned my tag with my embossing gun.
Today’s challenge is a photo inspiration and it’s a beachy scene, so I automatically went to the Christmas in July set of Santas Jodie released a few years back.
Again, I went back to my go-to layout for a quick and simple card. More papers from Lilybee Designs. Another kraft card base and more sheer ribbon bows. Just a tad bit of Stickles on his hat. Love these colors together!
