MFTWSC183 Patriotic Happy Birthday

HAPPY 4th OF July!! It’s been a rainy one here by us.  It seems to be clearing up just enough to allow for the fireworks to still happen tonight.  Since we were hanging out at home today, I snuck in some play time and did my card for this week’s MFTWSC challenge.

Not only is today America’s birthday, we have 3 birthday parties coming up next week.  I figured this would be a great time to ensure that I have cards on hand for those parties.  So, for this card, I pulled out some colored vellum — I had inherited this HUGE stash of vellum last summer.   Last weekend, I sorted it into colors and passed some on to my kids for their crafting.  {Otherwise known as cutting every little piece of paper into tinier pieces that end up ALL OVER THE HOUSE!}

Back to this card — I cut two pierced circles the same size of a shimmery white vellum.  I created a pocket, sewing them together with metallic red thread.  Inside I added tiny stars cut with the Scattered Stars die-namic in red, white and blue vellum.  The Electric Red card stock is embossed with the Darice Stars folder.  I then cut a pierced fishtail flag and stamped happy birthday from the Celebrate Big set.  A trio of rhinestone stars in red, white & blue finished it off.
