Happy New Year! Hope you had a great start to 2014! We had our dance party and I wasn’t sick, for the first time since 2010! Our daughter so wanted to stay awake until midnight to see the ball drop. We knew that was highly unlikely, so we set up our bedroom TV in our son’s room and they watched the show in there. Of course, she fell asleep way before midnight. When she awoke the next morning, she flipped about falling asleep. She was so upset! We had DVR’d the show and she watched it, feeling a tad bit better when she saw how non-Earth shattering it was! LOL!
I’m not big on resolutions. I don’t think I’ve ever made one and stuck to it. I do have a few goals I would like to succeed at for the year. Two are crafty related — first up is to actually sell some of the things I make. I’m often asked if I sell my cards or if I have a business and I always stammer around, saying no. So that is goal #1. Second is I’d like to complete all 52 of the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketches. Last year, I think I completed 21. Hopefully, this year I can complete far more! I’m off to a good start with this week’s sketch — oh and last week, where I snuck in my quickie card making session — I won the challenge and $20 MFT cash! WOOHOO! It will definitely come in handy with the fabulousness coming out this month!
This week’s sketch was so simple. You know how simple sketches can some how be more complicated than others? Well, I wanted to make sure this wouldn’t be that case. I decided to create a rainbow background using the Double Dot border die-namic. There were a bunch of scrap pieces sitting on my desk and it worked out perfectly — I cut each color with the die and then cut them apart down the middle. When I was cutting them out, I decided to keep the centers from between the dots. After stamping “you’re amazing” from Bold Statements, I added a row of rainbow centers at the top. A relatively quick card! Challenge Submissions MFTWSC157 Creative Craft Challenge — #26 Anything Goes
