HOLY COW! It’s been over a MONTH! I’m sorry! I didn’t plan to leave for that long! It was a very busy September — start of school, planning an 8th birthday party, a visit from my mother-in-law (HI! Mom!) and the FINAL step in my reconstructive surgery (crowning touches, if you know what I mean). I’m still in recovery mode from that surgery — I am not 100% and am using doctor’s orders to take it easy as the perfect reason to participate in the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenges. I had a blast last year (until Sandy hit and I wasn’t able to craft) and this year, I’ve challenged myself to complete ALL of the challenges! I’m off to a great start — as I’ve completed them ALL. They’ll be coming to the blog over the coming days and weeks!
Today I have my card for the Let’s Punch Out Breast Cancer (HYCCT1304) challenge. For me, this was the perfect opportunity to use the MFT Support Hope bra die.
I can speak to how much I looked forward to getting some new pretty bras after my reconstructive surgery in April. When you spend so much time fighting cancer, losing so much of your femininity and wearing uncomfortable, unflattering and blase surgical bras — something soft, lacy and frilly is just what the doctor ordered!
I wanted this to be uber-feminine and dare I say it, a bit SEXY! Papers are from Echo Park Be Mine. I purposely chose papers with script and the elegant damask. I paper pieced the bra and added in pretty black bows and pearls. A perfect added touch is ruffled satin & lace ribbon — oh, it’s so pretty! The layout is this week’s The Sweet Stop sketch — I just sized it up to a 5.5″ square card.
