Cityscape — Bendi Style!

Hi all!  Don’t fall over now!  I know, two days in a row!  Today I have a card, which is ultimately rather simple, but definitely not in the construction.  The other week when I received the Wednesday Tutorial email from SCS, my chin dropped.  I couldn’t believe that gorgeous cherry blossom card.  I’ve been a bit in love with them since we went to Washington DC and MISSED them being open!  Mother Nature and all of her wacky behavior this year had them opening late!

Anyway, I’m off track.  The tutorial was for a Bendi Fold card.  It looked gorgeous without being overly complicated — it isn’t simple, you just need to be concise.  I knew I wanted to try the fold and had the perfect set to do so.  The Cityscape set from Sweet Stamp Shop was screaming “use me!”

After cutting my base and flap pieces, I stamped two stretches of buildings.  I wanted it to be a pop of color in the fireworks, so I chose to do black and silver for the buildings.  After stamping the buildings, I adhered them to the flaps and then cut around the buildings to create the skyline.

Inside I stamped another row of buildings and then masked them off to sponge the sky.  I used a*muse studio inks — I so love these ink pads.  They are so juicy and a nice size to accommodate larger images.    Here I used Navy and Blueberry.  I then stamped the fireworks with Versamark and embossed them with some red embossing tinsel.  To finish it off, I had to add in a few “stars” or sequins in this case.

Now, this set comes with a bunch of awesome sentiments, but I opted to leave it sentiment free.  I’m not even sure I would want to write on this card.  Maybe just use it as decor!
