MFTWSC108 Wake Up…

Hi all!  It’s a snowy Monday morning here in NJ — soon to be sloppy, rainy and sleety Monday.  I absolutely LOVE snow — it’s so peaceful!  But I can still say after almost 15 years on the East Coast that people here do not know how to handle it!  I had one driver in front of me this morning doing 10 under the speed limit for flurries.  No accumulation or road issues, just flurries!

Anyway, you aren’t here to read about the bad drivers of NJ!  I have my card for this week’s MFT sketch.  I’m so excited that I have done all of them for January and ON TIME!  I have to go back and look, but I must be fairly close to beating my number for all of 2012!

This week’s sketch was very simple.  There are a lot of fantastic sentiment sets from MFT and I pulled out my Pearls of Wisdom set for this card.  When I was reading through the sentiments, I decided on the one below.  Then, I got to thinking — how cool would this be with the skyline underneath it?!  Then, I thought a little more and googled images of sunrises.  I pulled out a bunch of inks and started creating a sunrise.  I just sponged each color — going from orange to pinkish orange to blue.

The card base is white – Sweet Tooth from MFT and the panel & city are cut from Nightshift (MFT).  It’s a great navy blue.  I added a little bow of complimentary twine colors and then wrapped the entire card as well.

Finally, I added rhinestone stars to the sky.  I really am happy with how it turned out — awesome quote, great die cut and just a fun card.
