Hi all! Happy Wednesday! My kids are back to school today after being off for Jewish holidays. Yesterday was a complete wash out — all the way around — we had awful weather, lots of wind and rain and I was sick. I plopped on the couch while the kids tried to keep themselves busy. I’m sure they are very happy to be back in school. LOL!
Anywho, I have a mini pink room makeover. I’d been having some issues with my desk — half was taken over by my daughter, I couldn’t find the right chair, we were always walking into it, etc. So a few weeks ago, my husband made me a new desk. Yup, I’m pretty lucky! Now, I liked my space before, but now I LOVE it!
Here’s the before shot:
Here’s the after & now:
Look how much bigger the room looks! The desk is made of 2x4s for legs and cabinet quality plywood for the tops. This is actually two pieces to allow for a better ease of moving. I painted it black and we topped it with acrylic. The acrylic was our answer to any potential paint stickiness. I LOVE it!
This is my “main” work surface. I now have space for my scoring board, my paper trimmer and all of my tools that I need within reach in a nice clean, organized spot!
The other “half” has my Cuttlebug — another tool that never had a permanent home. Next to it is my 7 Gypsies Library drawer that now holds my dies. My tins that I originally stored them in couldn’t handle the weight. We figure the entire desk, including wood, paint and acrylic cost $140. The paint and acrylic were the main costs.
Hopefully now that I’m almost organized, the creative mojo will start flowing!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
