Funny Face Stella

Happy Saturday all!  Wow — it’s been awhile!  I’m so happy to have finally created something this week.  My range of motion is getting better on my left side and I’m left wondering if it was 100% to begin with.  This week, my physical therapist was able to release a few “chords” of scar tissue that made a HUGE difference.  There’s definitely a “not like myself” feeling that I don’t foresee going away until I have my second surgery later in the year.  Although, I guess this is a my new “like myself.”  Either way, I’m very happy to be back in my room a bit!

Anywho, today starts a new challenge at Catch the Bug.  Your challenge is show us your funny face or humorous cards.  Of course, you know that means lots of opportunities for Stella, Gus, Margaret, Mildred, JJ, Ruby, etc.  Today is my sister’s birthday, so this is going to her.

I used the Stella Birthday — One More Candle image — she’s such a “tell it like it is” woman.  I already had her colored and in my stash, so it turned into a great pink friendly card.  LOL!   Papers are Melon Mambo, Bubblegum Pink from Gina K and Kaisercraft Bubblegum Hills.  The layout is the following sketch from Platypus Creek Digitals.

I wasn’t sure what to do with the circle in the lower right and then I found one of the die cuts included with the Bubblegum Hills papers and it worked perfectly. I stamped 48 (my sister’s age) with the PTI Fresh Alphabet set.  The sentiment is punched out with a circle punch and then I did two additional circles in each pink to create a base for it.  Of course, Stella needs a bit of sparkle and has it on her table, icing and candle.
