I Fought Like a Girl…..

….AND WON!!  Yesterday I had my post-surgery appointment with the breast surgeon and she confirmed that the cancer is GONE!  I specifically asked her if it was all gone, just to be 1000% certain.  It was a very good day!  I will still undergo radiation to ensure every last teeny tiny bit of cancer is gone, but that will be easy compared to chemo and surgery.

Throughout this journey, I’ve had to lean on a lot of people to help with the kids.  We don’t have family nearby so we’ve called on friends.  Just before I started my second kind of chemo, I was introduced to another mom from my daughter’s school, who had gone through breast cancer last year.  I didn’t personally know anyone who had gone through breast cancer.   In her first email to me, she welcomed me to the club none of us asked to join.  I think that most definitely sums that up.

This card went to my friend after I completed chemo at the end of the year.  The ala modes are definitely my favorite line of stamps from MFT and particularly the Fight Like a Girl set.  The papers are all from a stack of breast cancer papers — I particularly like the script that has words like determination, strength and courage.  The layout is another of the MFT Wednesday Sketch Club sketch.

  1. I get goosebumps every time I think of you and hearing the good news. I lost my aunt to breast cancer, but it was back in the 50's and no modern medicines like today's wonderful inventions and treatments. Hooray Hooray hooray for you.
PS Love your ABC pencil container and tag you did today for Bugaboo.
