A Halloween Mantle

Good Morning!  Just a quick post to share our newest challenge over at Catch the Bug.  Today is our shoebox swap that my friend Michele & I planned and I’ve been swamped the last few days.

Anywho, our challenge this week is Halloween Anything But a Card.  Get those creative juices flowing and show us your tricks & treats!

Now, when I sat down to do this challenge, I decided to go big, literally!  I wanted to make up a decoration for our mantle.

I printed off a bunch of Halloween images (see my recipe below for images) at 100-150% size.  I wanted to make them into trick or treaters.  A Halloween Brat Wizard and Witch are sitting on a Halloween Bench and then the line of kids start to go up to the Halloween Steps.  JJ is watching over all of the kids.  There are a pair of ghosts in the trees — the trees are from Target $ Spot, but were actually $2.50 each.  They are completely glittered and awesome.  The furthest tree is from Avon.

When I cut out the images, I left about an inch at the bottom of each image.  I cut a slit in each one and then used another piece of paper to create a stand.  A really good breeze could blow them over, but this works for now.  Here are a few close ups of each section:

  1. You are so clever to come up with this awesome way to decorate for the holidays on a budget. Some of us have no storage so buying all the cute decor is just not an option. I am so going to try this with my kids. Thank you for sharing with us at StampInsanity.
