Warm Birthday Wishes

Good Morning!  Should be an interesting weekend here on the East Coast!  My mom is visiting from Wisconsin and will get to experience her first tropical storm/hurricane.  We spent all day yesterday preparing for it by putting everything we could in the garage. Today will be inside preparations — making sure things are off the floor in the basement and some baking of yummy goodies.  I hope anyone who is in the path of Hurricane Irene is safe!

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug.  Our theme this week is  WARM COLORS + PAPER PIECING.

I went on a bit Dottie kick recently and chose to use Dottie Birthday for this card.  For me, I love using a golden yellow and orange together for warm colors.  Echo Park Splash had this great patterned paper to feed right into my color combo.  Using the reverse side of the paper, I paper pieced Dottie’s dress.  It turned out really cute, adding in a pop of white with a scalloped edge, a big bow and some rhinestones.

We’d love to have you play along with us.  Just upload your NEW creation using WARM COLORS and PAPER PIECING to the Catch the Bug blog for your chance to win up to 7 images from the Bugaboo store.  (Winner of 7 images must use a Bugaboo image on their card.)
