Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Hi all!  Happy Tuesday!  Well,, we all survived the first full day with puppy.  Freckles is such a cuddler and sweet dog.  She is very good with the kids, so that is a HUGE plus.  I just have to figure out how to do everything that is needed for her, while still getting sleep & keeping my sanity.  LOL!

Anyway, today I have Teacher Apprreciation gifts for Ainsley’s teacher and her aide.

I wanted (and needed) something very simple.  I was going to do baskets like these, but the flowers wouldn’t fit in there.  I wanted to do flowers because they are easier on the wallet than chocolates.  So I decided to go with a very simple 4x4x4 basket.  One of the most useful things about my Martha Stewart scoring board is the list of measurements for simple boxes.  The baskets are made from a piece of 12×12 Martha Stewart pale purple paper and decorated with DCWV Pocket Full ‘o Posies paper, which had all of the colors used on my Bugaboo Brats Big Bow Sitter and book stack.  I just added a simple handle, decorated with some ribbon and a brad on each side for added support.

For this card, I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop this week and paired Pale Plum with Pure Poppy.  I think I would have liked the DCWV piece as background instead of one of the small panels, but when I was planning that out, I thought it would be too much and had everything glued down before I decided I would have rather done it differently.  Oh well!

For the second card, I used the sketch from The Pink Elephant this week.  This time, using Pale Plum as the base with Pure Poppy.  I really like how this turned out — it’s an unusual color combo, but I like it.
