Good Morning! I have two posts for you today. First up is the anything but a card post for Catch the Bug. One of Jodie’s most recent collections is Dottie. Now, I happen to know “you like her, you really, really like her” since the freebie was downloaded a LOT! Hopefully, you’ve all checked out the rest of the collection and snagged her already.
When I was trying to decide what to do for today’s project, I looked at the bath image and then at an empty ribbon spool and a light bulb went on.
A do not disturb door hanger for the bathroom. Now, I haven’t had a nice long soak in the tub in a very long time — I think I might have been pregnant with Ainsley the last time. So I’m thinkin’ I’m due…
I added in “Do Not Disturb” before printing Dottie. I colored her up, giving her a very fun pink tub. To cover the ribbon spool, I picked out Basic Gray Sultry paper. Since this was a wide ribbon spool, it was larger than my biggest circle Nestie. In order to cover, I cut around the outside edge of that biggest Nestie to create the two circles I needed. On the inside of the spool, I cut a strip of Melon Mambo and covered up the plain inside. I cut Dottie out and added a Melon Mambo scalloped circle. Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen added in some glitz to the scallops and Stickles to her bubbles, with a Glitter Dome in her hand for the big bubble. Finally, I added in brown satin May Arts ribbon to the inside to tie a big bow as a “handle.” A stiffer ribbon, like grosgrain, probably would have worked better here. So the next time you think of throwing out your empty ribbon spools, think again!
