Halloween Bench

Hi all!  Happy Tuesday!  We had some fabulous news yesterday.  Ainsley met with her pediatric endocrinologist (a new doctor due to the unfortunate & very untimely passing of her previous doctor over the summer) and had her A1C test taken.  An A1C is the test used to get the average blood sugar a person with diabetes had over a period of time.  Anyone’s blood sugar fluctuates — a person with or without diabetes.  However, you want the fluctuations to be smaller, steadier.  You don’t want to go from a low (50 mg/dl) to a high (350 mg/dl) in a short period of time.  (The US measures blood sugar in mg/dL, many other places, including Canada & Britain, measure in mmo/L.  To find the equivalent, the US measure is divided by 18 and the Canadian/British would be multiplied by 18.)  Ainsley’s A1C is 7.3, which is an excellent A1C for a 5 year old.  So we did a little happy dance, which lasted only until the wee hours of this morning when she threw up and we found her blood sugar to be 495 due to a random stomach bug. It is the roller coaster of diabetes.

Today Jodie released some awesome Halloween Brats and backgrounds, in addition to some fantastic new Gus Birthday images.  I’m a little behind, but had a bit of time this morning (sick child and all) to put together a fun Halloween card.

I’m not only in love with these new Brats and accessories, but also Cosmo Cricket Matilda.  I see my Basic Grey being bumped down a notch.  LOL!  On that cute little Halloween bench are the witch and wizard, taking a break from trick-or-treating.  Jodie not only draw the accessories for fall/Halloween, but also without the pumpkins and fall accents for everyday use.  They are so awesome and Jodie is just insanely talented!  The kids are colored with Copics and have a bit of bling with rhinestones and a sparkly May Arts ribbon & bow.    Inside the easel card, I used a fancy Nestie tag and stamped a sentiment from the There She Goes Halloween Home Sweet Home additions.

Wait until you see the rest of the collection!  They are just fabulous!  Check them out here, here and here for Gus!
