Witch Stitch in Time

Good Morning! Before I get to our challenge post for today, I just want to take a moment to reflect on today and remind you to give your loved ones a hug.

Today we bring you a brand new challenge at Catch the Bug. Our challenge this week is A Stitch in Time — use stitching (real or faux), buttons, pins, sewing notions, etc. on your card along with fall colors. Now, I don’t sew on cards — I don’t sew period. I can’t say that I am good at faux stitching either. You can rule out finding those on my card — now can you find my sewing part?

Give up? Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret — I was so focused on getting my fall colors in, that I forgot the sewing theme. Fortunately for me, I had added Glitter Dots on top of buttons. LOL! Anyway, the image is from the JJ Calendar Months collection and is October. JJ is colored in a great fall assortment of browns and oranges.  I really love how sophisticated she looks — broom and all!  The papers are Chocolate Chip and Summer Sunrise, paired with patterned paper from Debbie Mumm Harvest & Holidays.  I added in some grosgrain and the Glitter Dot buttons.  The layout is this week’s A Crafty Little Place’s sketch challenge.

  1. Cammy–I love this card! I don't think I have this image–but I'll be getting it now! You forgot about the stitching theme–I forgot about the fall colors, but mine too was okay with green and orangy/red. We've got too much on our minds!

  2. First, I love that you made a point to remind people the importance of today. My husband is a fireman and it is a huge part of “us.” I think it should be a huge part of everyone because so many lives were and continue to be lost as a result. So thank you!
Second, I love you card. The image is adorable, but more is what you've done with it. I love those glittery button/brads. Thanks for sharing at ACLP:D

  3. Cammy she is so cute! Glitter dots on the buttons – brilliant. I totally overlook the no sew element because that embellishment idea is too cute! 🙂 Love the colors of this card, she is quite a sophisticated witch!
Thank you so much for joining us this week in our sketch challenge!

  4. Someone said it recently, and it is so true. . .Everytime I think that I can probably do without an image, you use it in a card and then all bets are off. . .;) I freakin' love the chocolatey goodness of this card! 😀 MWAH!
