I totally know my strengths as a card maker — I am definitely stronger with girl cards than boy cards, for one. I also know I’m not real good with the whole cowboy thing either. So to say this was a bit of a challenge for me, would be a very true statement.
All I see when I look at this is the white space screaming out around the little guy. I was going to sponge it a bit before removing the nestie, but totally forgot. Anyway, this week’s challenge over at Just Us Girls is Wild Wild West, so I pulled out this Wee One Cowboy in training. I followed the sketch from The Sweet Stop this week and pulled out some fun brown designer papers to make it work. To get me a bit more in my comfort zone, I pulled out my cornice punch again to create an acceptably boyish border for the card. The ribbon is a faux suede type ribbon from Michaels that I knotted along the way, inspired by Frances’ rope treatment on this card. Definitely not in my comfort zone with this card, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I think I’ll go dig out some girly images now. LOL!
