Happy Friday! I’m so happy it is Friday! My daughter is invited to a birthday party tomorrow morning for a set of twins from her class last year. The invitation was a scroll with an invite from the “king & queen” to the prince and princess’ birthday party. So when I made up their cards, I wanted to go with a prince and princess.
Aren’t they cute? I used two images from The Wild Flower Patch — Prince Rye and Pretty Princess. This was my first attempt at coloring African-American skin and hair with my Copics. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. Especially for a first attempt.
For my layout, I decided to use the sketch that is up for The Wild Flower Patch challenge this week.
I had to flip the sketch to accommodate my images. You’ll see my current fave punch in there — the cornice Martha Stewart punch. Each card has a Dark Chocolate base. Prince Rye is paired with Not Quite Navy and DCWV At Home paper. The Pretty Princess is paired with Regal Rose and My Minds Eye Quite Contrary paper.
For Prince Rye, I used a picture of Prince Charming for inspiration. I used a gold gel pen to color his epaulets, belt, buttons and cuffs.
Pretty Princess has Diamond Stickles on her gloves and the little layers at the bottom of her dress. I used Petal Pink Liquid Pearls for her necklace and tiara. Unfortunately, it seems I always end up with one little blotch with liquid pearls. Annoying! I still love how she turned out.
