TD03 Lotus Power

Happy Saturday! Do you have any fun plans? We have some yard work and house work to do — sounds like fun, huh?! Anyway, today marks the 3rd Tiffany Doodles challenge. If you’ve been watching the blog, you’ve seen the FABULOUS flower Tiffany has recently released. Our challenge for you this month is to show us your flower power.

For my card, I chose to use the lotus.

Now, Tiffany has this in a set of two images — one as just the lotus flower and the other as the lotus with an outline to coordinate with the largest blossom Nestie. I chose to use just the flower. After googling to see what a lotus looks like, I decided to go with the white/pale pink flower. In order to accomplish this, I first painted the petals with Moonlight Smooch and then topped it with Opal Shimmerz. I wanted to keep this really simple, so I did a white on white card. A layer of Melon Mambo and some May Arts two tone ribbon gave the right amount of pop.

Here’s a close-up of the flower.

I added pearls around the edge of scalloped circle, which work really well with the Polka Dot embossed white panel.

  1. Beautiful! Love the white on white! Perfect choice to use with this beautiful flower. The Melon Mambo looks great for a pop of color and the little pearls tie right in with the swiss dot embossed paper! Love it!
