A Jacobean Bird

Good morning! Today is my last Tuesday as a Guest Designer for Tuesday Morning Sketches. I’ve had a great time working with Melissa’s great sketches. As I mentioned last week, there will be a birthday celebration throughout July for Tuesday Morning Sketches. I’ll be back the last week to help celebrate, but make sure you check out all of the fun too!

First up, here is the sketch for this week.

For my card, I used the current freebie from Bugaboo Stamps (available through Thursday, July 1). Now, I had no idea what jacobean birds were, but after googling, I found that they are popular designs for embroidery and needlework.

I have to say I am thrilled with how this came out. These little designs SCREAM bling. I love this color combo too. I used Bermuda Bay, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black. The bird is colored with Copics and I added in lots of Basic Grey pearls for the bling. My Bermuda Bay is embossed with the Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder and it works nicely with the patterned paper, which is Making Memories Sabrina. A pretty bow of Hawaiian Shores grosgrain finished it off nicely.
